should i paint my ion the same way its in the sticky? i mean, thats intended for the aluminum(some kind of metal, BAH i dont care) guns right? i want to put painters tape over the black part, and use those instructions to paint the body?

If you're going for it, I'd use either plastic primer, or that Fusion paint Krylon makes for plastic. Follow the directions on whatever stuff you buy though, some of them get a little picky with the prep work and cleaning.
