How do you make a paintball barrel louder?
Anyone know how to make the paintball gun louder without losing acuracy or distance?

Wrap tape over the porting in the barrel, or get an unported barrel.

i'd bet it's that he want's to scare the s*** outta his neighbors...
i'll take paper and put tape around the paper to hold the paper on my barrel without leaving the tape residue...
i dont like one of my neighbors...

Putting tape over the porting usually does decrease accuracy though, but it's really the only way to do it besides getting a new barrel without porting. Now a days, all barrels still in production have porting of some sort; you'll probably have to find an old school used barrel. What gun is this for? If it's for an autococker threaded gun, I know the older autococker models came with an un ported barrel, there's probably a fair amount of those floating around.

You can actually buy a loudener made by Air America (called the "Intimidator). All it is is a small can shaped piece of aluminum that locks on over the end of you're barrel. You could make one youself.

Thanks, this is exactly what i am looking for. My reason: To scare the shi* out of anyone who is in range. If i can't make my A-5 Quiet enough th be herd, i am gona make em scared to death of me!

good catch.. i spent a good bit of time making my 98c quieter, then the apex and rt make it the loudest gun on the field... sooo..if i can scare people into flinching before a shot, then ill go for it.... now to make a "loudener"

Yeah, but thats really only going to work on newbs...plus, any of us with any kind of skill will be able to pinpoint you on the field a lot easier. When im playin in the woods I love it when someone shows up with an ego or timmy. I can pick them out of a crowd. but yeah, the only way to do it is cover the porting, or increase the input pressure...

taking a timmy or ego is like what was said about the ions "taking them out for woods/scenario is like taking an ak-37 duck hunting, it has no purpose" same thing but alot worse.

there is a bolt or tube for the a-5 called the red hot fire tube that makes the gun sound like a machine gun, and also , there is a non-ported sniper barrel called the interceptor. both of these are at opsgear.com both great additions to an a-5 to make them scare the s*** out of people.
