Custom Masks: DESIGN AND PRODUCTION.

Hello everyone,

I am a designer and an avid paintball guy. However, though it seems my designs comply with safety standards and everything else that matters; I CAN"T SEEM TO FIND someone who does customized designs from scratch: materials, structure, look and feel.

Is there anyone who does this? Not in my country (Costa Rica).

That's a pretty dramatic question.

The reason you dont' see any of this, is that, to sell a mask it must pass rigorous safety inspections. It's not worth the time and effort to produce a single mask and do this to each one.

Plenty of guys and some companies customize masks, but customize like airbrushing them and adding stuff onto a mask you buy in a store, but short of asking JT or some other mask manufacturer to do a custom one for you, there's not a whole lot of made from scratch custom in masks out there.

Remember that a paintball mask is not about fashion. Sure there's many styles but they are all subject to regulations and safety standards.

What about keeping the core but customizing the structure of the mask itself?
Skip all the safety regulations by buying a good well-known brand kind of mask. But have someone attach the appearance, say like a mask over a mask.

It would end up being all looks (feh...) but still would look like i want to.

What about modifying or adding parts to a good mask? Not just by painting skulls and girl silhouettes.

I guess I'm in for a trip on my own.

Ok Then. Let's go naive all the way.

I want the benefits of a standard mask with the added "identity" and protection a "visor" or custom accesory would give me. For example look at this comic book cover. I had the actual GSG9 mask reference but I can't find it now. The GSG9 is the counter-terrorist team assembled after the "Munich Massacre". The mask, kind of looks like this:

You could probably find a custom modded master chief mask somewhere on the web, look on the peanut butter nation, there's a few threads about those masks. Look similar to what you're looking for.
