Morning All.
Given that I can't afford a new gun this year. And that my wife is a bit leary about markers that look like the real thing. I'm on a quest to pretty-up my Ion with kits, barrels etc that can make it "tactical" while being able to make it my own, unique, non-replica marker.
That said, I do understand that the odds of getting parts that would make an Ion look like the real thing are slim and none.
But it's not as easy as I thought. Last year when I wasn't looking, everyone and their dog Skip had body kits and stuff, not anymore. (BTW, I'm writing from Central Alberta, Canada)
But I think I'll be able to find one.
One thing that has been tripping me up, however, is the stock. I want to go remote to take advantage of a fun tac-vest I got for Jesus' Birthday, but have found very few references to stocks that screw into asa's. Tacamo made one, but I'll be darned if I can find a seller.
Anyway. Remember, this is for fun. I don't need any flames about tac markers vs tourny markers, blah, blah, blah.
FYI. My ultimate coolness-turbo-fun goal will be a bodykit of some kind that features 3 rails, upon which I can mount freakin lasers. And no, no flames on lasers and paintball ballistics. I just want to be the guy who puts three red dots on your chest before he lights you up, all Predator-Like.
hmmmm, to be honest in the long run to get this look your just going to have to get a new marker, i dont see any way around it, and if you do manage to get rails and such on your ion i think its going to end up costing you much more than a new marker with that stuff on it.
anywho that aside. i think a stock is going to be VERY hard to get on an ion, reason 1 is there is nothing to attach it to, if it is a BOB ion i cas see some possibilities tehre but normal ion your choices are pretty limited, i think the best idea is going to be to find a standard one that will use the ASA holes. (to be honest im not sure these are easy to come by, im no stock expert) reason 2 is just because it is never slated as a mil sim marker there is not a mil sim market for it, what your doing is like making a honda civic a good off road vehicle, it can be done but it takes a lot of interesting work. your best option is just to use the tank as a stock, but i know thats not what you want. if you dont like where it puts your marker try a drop forward. as for lasers, i think your only option with the ion is to buy one that attaches to the barrel since you dont have rails

There are body kits with rails that'll help when I find one. Like I said, it's when I'm not look that I can't find stuff.
Word on the net now is that there's a company blackcell....or was it blackops? that makes sim kits for ions.

Personally I would sell your Ion and get a Sp-1 with the blackheart upgrade. Its wicked cheap if you can find one used. The blackheart is 100 bucks and comes with the board, a breach milled for eyes, laser eyes, and a qev. You can also get a double finger trigger expansion kit for it if you have to. You could get the Sp-8 but its just an over priced, 5 pound Ion. Thats my two cents
