Anyway to make tippmann A5 more C02 efficient?

Just bought a tippman A-5 today, Seems like a pretty good/accurate gun.

I bought a 24oz C02 tank to go along with it and after maybe 700 shots or so the cyclone feeder on it stopped working, I could manually feed a ball and it would still fire at same velocity it seemed but feeder wasn't turning to feed balls, after sticking a friends full c02 can on the feeder worked again so I knew I was out of C02 and didn't have a broken gun.

When I was looking up marker reviews online, I remember reading something in an A5 review saying they upgraded something that greatly increased its C02 efficiency, reviewer said they were getting 700 shots from a 9 oz tank on the A5.

So anyone have any ideas on what I can do to increase efficiency on my A5? I see I can buy vortex feeder mod kits that say will feed balls at lower psi than stock, also have feed rods that say increase air.

One other quick question I just thought of is, is there anything I can get to shield my left hand (one on front grip) I must of taken 5-6 finger shots today

I'm betting that your tank wasn't filled all the way or you are shooting too fast (and drawing liquid CO2) or at too high a velocity or maybe you had a bad tank oring? 700 shots on a 24oz tank is nowhere near normal even for an A5. As for the finger shots that is just a sign you are doing something right if you are getting shot in the hands or marker that just means the rest of you was properly behind cover. Look into picking up a pair of gloves either for paintball or not it doesn't really matter.

There are a few things you can do to help with efficiency like an anti-siphon for your tank, a CO2 compatible regulator, or a spring kit (access to chronograph required). None of the other upgrades really do all that much and mostly focus on increasing the feed rate of the Cyclone.

When I am in airfill at work, We will fill the CO2 tanks a little under for the bigger tanks (20 oz gets filled to 18 oz and a 24 gets 21) because of how hot it gets out here, our scales are not perfect, and some players have a habit of leaving their tanks in the sun.

But one thing you might try is polishing your internals a little and it will help reduce the amount of CO2 you use.

So how many shots is normal for 24oz on a5?

from what I read online the stock a5 vortex workings stop turning at around 1000 psi I think and if you get the little kit than it will keep feeding down to 300 psi
The gun was still shooting if I manually fed a ball but wouldn't turn feeder.

Gonna check o-ring, I never checked velocity, I bought a gun and changed my mind and took it back for a5 and then an hour later we were getting ready to play. So im gonna do some adjusting see how it goes.
