Painting a paintball gun?

What kind of things would I need to do to my paintball gun to repaint it? I have a Tippmann model 98 I want to repaint. I'm going to take the paintball gun apart and paint just the metal plating on the sides, but, what kind of paint would I use and any kind of color coating?

duracoat, lasts a lifetime and the pattern depends on the terrain you play on

I used automotive paint on my 98with clearcoat over it. It's held up for about 5 years but its showing its age- Chips and stains from paint I didn't wash off. Doesn't help that one of the colors I used was white.

If I had to do it again, and had an oven I didn't care about (Maybe even a yardsale toaster oven, Tippmann's break in half and would lay flat) I'd use a bake-on finish. Duracoat works well provided you take your time with the prep work and keep everything really clean and oil free. I sprayed a rifle with it last summer; its holding up really well so far. After spraying I let the parts hang for a few days before I moved them, and then gave them another week before assembly.
