I am currently looking at buying an SP 1 for a FIRST TIME GUN. I only have about $350 TOTAL to spend, and the SP 1 seems to be an interesting prospect. Are there any kinds of upgrades out there for it? And by that I mean internal, and anything besides a Blackheart Board. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
well, you could get a new barrel, the one it has stock it's like...11 inches, i have one myself. without blackheart and with co2 (:'()
obviously a hpa tank.

You don't really need to upgrade the SP-1 much. The board is to get past the 11bps cap the stock board has. Get a nice barrel for it and be done with it, don't waste your money as it's an already decent starter marker.
I found a site that sells the J&J elite custom barell kits for $88.00. That is a good deal and a great barell kit for the money.
The SP-1 is a good marker for the money. Look at some package deals online or check the forums here and at PBnation.com for anyone selling thier SP-1 for a better deal.
Not much to upgrade - I would spend the extra cash on a good force feed loader. The newer SP-1's will shoot 11bps and even in single fire mode you'll soon pull your trigger faster than a gravity feeder will load. I went to the field last Saturday with a gravity hopper and I was contstantly shaking to bake and waiting for balls. But, without the blackheart upgrade I wouldn't get a loader that does more than 20bps. From what I've read the general thought is you want your loader to be rated at about 3-7 bps faster than your marker. So, make sure it the loader is in the 14-20 bps range and you'll get a good load rate without blowing out your wallet.
