This might be a dumb question but has anybody tried getting a J&J barrel annoed? I'm pretty sure the barrel itself is aluminum but will it mess with the ceramics? I love the barrel, just not the dust black color so much...

It does hav an aluminum core, but getting it anno'd will destroy the ceramic coating

The heat from powder coating will not be enough to damage the ceramic. It may hurt the glaze however, which is what gives the black color.

An option could be to sand off the black glaze, apply a new glaze of a different color and then fire it.
