Step 1. Take your hopper apart. Take out all of the electronics. Have only the 2 pieces of the shell.
Step 2. Make the boiling dye (follow directions on the box)
Step 3. Put both pieces of the shell into the boiling dye. Leave it in for however long it says on the box. I think it is 10 minutes, but check the box to be sure.
It's that easy. Try some 2 color fades and stuff. Have fun with it.

Instead of using tape for detailed painting you can use a hot gluegun to do designs before putting it in the dye. also, it doesnt havre to be clear, you can also dye smoke, green, red, or blue... AS LONG as you are dying it a darker color then the origonal.
Other things i have dyed are grips. I used to have ugly orange grips that didnt match my gun, now there black and look great.
Yeah, I never thought about grips. Like the clear Smart Parts grip would be easy to dye. Clear gives the best resault from what I've seen.
The hotglue technique is very easy. You just need a hotglue gun and some glue sticks, get it melted, then put a pattern on whatever you are dyeing. Then dye and peel off the glue.
Wipe down all the parts you intend to dye. The oils from you skin will cause the dye to not set into the plastics as well. I did my clear egg a dark blue and missed one thumbprint. You can't see it from a distance, but up close it's a light spot that aggrivates the *$&# out of me! lol It could be worse, just make sure to wipe everything down with glass cleaner or something. A big handprint would show up pretty good.

If you put ductape over a part, the threads will soak up the dye and transfer the dye into the plastic, giving you a checkered pattern. Also, you can take and cut up tiny pieces of stickers, put them on, throw it in the dye, and then peel off the stickers. Go lite to dark if you wnt more colors.
Example
Clear hopper
Put stickers on(Shapes etc)
Put in yellow dye
Put on more stickers
Put in Black dye
Now you'll have a clear, yellow, and black hopper.
ok i have an idea for a design. dye it w/ a light color completly first. then take a sticker like a flame (only outline will show up) and put it where u want it to be then dye the rest a dark color. It may work. And do they have clear non elecro hoppers( for like $10) if so tell me where
