Port reducer +PVC cap = Bazooka

I need to get a port reducer and fit it into a PVC end cap. I'm making a bazooka/anythign I want launcher. I can launch silverware, sticks, paper taters, you name it.

Anyways, what would be the best way to make a nice tight seal between the port reducer and the end cap. The cap is only like.. 1/6 inches thick minimum.. The port reducer is at least an inch long. I'm going to drill two port holes in the back to let out some of the pressure. The PVC is only rated for 300 PSI and I'm using a preset tank (not sure of the PSI, saying 850 to be safe). I could get a reg, but I'm shot on cash. I could rig up a hopper to the baby too. A 3 liter soda bottle +cardboard adn a spring and some duct tape will do the trick.

Dude you are destructive!

What you are talking about (a pneumatic potato cannon) has been achieved before using sprinkler valves and a scuba tank. I saw a website on it once, but I am too lazy to look it up.

Just use some PVC glue. It is usually stronger than the pipe. Be sure to use schedule 40 PVC so you dont lose an eye or hand or something like that. My old "spudzooka" was retired after I tried to shoot a potato 200 yards. May it rest in pieces.
