Question TES Issues

Ok, I'm new to owning a paintball gun (read I've played a lot but just decided to buy my own gun) and I have some questions. Although I'm new to this forum I'm not new to forums in general thus I know this will probably start a flame thread. But anyways on to my question...........
I just bought a brand new T.E.S. after about 1 box of paint blew the oring in the front block out, and the leaking commenced. So I bought new cup seal, leaking continued, bought T.E.S. Tube; leaking stopped. But now I'm getting a problem where the gun isn't cocking after I shoot. I have read some of the threads here already but there is no consensus as to why this is happening. Some say the PSI is too low, some say too high. My T.E.S came with regulator and guage but I don't necessarily know how to read it, it always reads about 700p.s.i (if I'm reading it correctly) no matter how far I turn in the regualtor screw in our out. Maybe it's broken but I doubt it because it reads 0 when I take the HPA Tank off and dry fire until all the air is gone.
So I guess the question is how do i read the guage, and why is the gun not recocking? Don't have manual so I know these are really stupid questions.

So does that mean that the guage is working?

yea the psi is your problem.
just like orracle said turn the gauge down to around 250, and if you dont get good velocity, slowly turn it up, but dont go higher than 350 at highest.

not perfect. higher could be better in any kinda of game. just not TOO high. around 280 is best, but 250 is okay if you have a good low pressure at around 250-300

also make sure that after every time you adjust the regulator...you fire at least one shot...one of my friends has to do that with his to get an accurate reading

I actually have to tank off the tank entirely, I don't know why maybe because of the HPA tank.

Well in order for the right pressure to show up on the gun, it seemed as if I had to take the tank off entirely after I changed the setting on the gun. Then when I put it back on it would show the correct reading on the guage.

You shouldn't need to fire a couple of shots and then the gauge on the gun should read at the psi your shooting at it just may take a couple of shots is all. No need to take the tank off and clear the lines. And all you can really get out of the tessy is about 265 psi unless you go with the spyder spring kit and put in a heavyer spring.

hope that helps.
