so im in the market for a new gun and had my eye on a dm5, its within my price range but i dont know too much about it, i have a smart parts impulse now but am having trouble finding parts so i think its time to go another direction, will i have the same problem with a dm5 because they are a bit out dated?? any recomendations if i do get one?? what about barrels? does the dm5 have a specific thred or will any barrel from a dm marker work? any basic information will help thanks!

i dont know everything about dye or proto but i own a pmr and i do know all dye and proto markers use autococker threads or at least from 2005 and up. ebay is a good place to find parts also. but if i was you, i would wait a while because all the 08 markers are coming out and that will in turn make the dm6 and dm7's prices drop.

There are tons of parts for DM5's. You'll easily find them.

I would however suggest spending the extra hundred and getting a six. It's the most improved DM in the line. DM7 has almost nothing more except a bit better bolt design, and the DM8 has no eyes. Whoopdedo.

ya i was wondering if i should do that, what kind of upgrades were there from the 5 to the 6?? im assuming it is lighter and shorter but what about the software or other internals?? im gunna go talk to my local shop and see if they carry parts, if they dont carry anything i may think of a different gun, i dont like ending my day cuz the shop doesnt carry any replacement parts.

They DM8 has no eyes?? really, thats quite strange, whats the purpose of taking them out, such a high end gun that just seems weird

I meant eye covers, lol sorry.

6 has UL frame, is lighter, shorter, and much sexier. Also it has an ASA.

They both are cocker threaded.

And to be honest, I never had a stock board in my DM5, but I think the programming on the DM6 isn't really different except for it might by easier to navigate around it. The DM6 is just an awesome gun and feels great in your hands.
