It is actually fairly cheap nowadays. If I went about doing it I wouldn't buy an ion, jsut the after market parts(my friend did it and only spent like 500 bucks, this was about 2 years ago so I am sure you can do it for A LOT less if you buy right, as in used when you can)

It isn't the price, it's the condition and exactly what the product is, I know what I am talknig about.

Well, to answer this question, yes, the lower the dwell the better.
Now that doesn't meen setting you gun to the lowest dwell setting it has. You need to find the balance point between your lowest dwell setting that you gun will cycle to, and the consistancy you need, and that takes tinker time.
It takes a little while to home in on you perfect dwell, but once it's there, you'll be good

hey, my friend just bought an slg and my other friend bought an ion. Using both of them ive found that the slg is a much better marker stock. I would gladly take an slg any day. Also atm i think the boards that are being shipped with the slgs are funky. My friend got a free replacement board form the local pb shop, that allows him to use a regular 9 volt as opposed to needing a 9.6 volt, which was what was recommended for the slg before the new board. but even with the funky board a 9 volt will be usable and last maybe 3 games. As for the UL frame, i have a dm7 and love the frame. It seems lighter than the stock frame of the slg to me. Plus i find it easier to walk the trigger using a ul frame, the slg stock frame is a little clunky, and the trigger isnt too nice either. But i was reading the ul frame for the slg isnt out yet. But either way u should hold off on bying the ul until after u get your tank and hopper.
Im not sure if u can use dm7 ul boards on an slg with a ul, but if u can id recomend buying the ul frame for 150 and buying for 150 the hater symbio board combo, and then a halo b. You can get your marker firing really fast and sexy and smooth with that. Google it or look on aciton village for it.

buying a marker for 200 then buying a UL frame for 150? might as well just buy a pm7/dm6 for that much money.

bascailly drop your dweel down to zero, then turn it up in incraments of about 8 shots until your gun will fully cycle, then turn it up 4 more times for safety and walk the trigger a lil bit for safety to see if it is recharging in time.

For the bolt to actually go forward and reset completely.
If your bolt doesn't fully cycle, you'll be able to tell. Your bolt wont even move.

oh it'll move, but generally will stop halfway if not all the way forward into the feedneck.
