dm6 self cleaning eyes?

so i shot some bad paint the other day, either one broke in my hopper or i somehow managed to chop one, anyway, after that it was all downhill, these "self cleaning eyes" seemed to do nothing but turn the bps way down in their futile attempts to clean themselvs. so im wondering, is there supposed to be a piece of glass or plastic that covers the eyes? because on mine they seem to be in a little hole and that just fills with paint. any ideas?

are you running stock eyes, or dm4/5/c/7/8 eyes in it? the stock eyes are supposed to have a lens that fits over the eyes that run flush with the rest of the breech. if running the other eyes, then there arent supposed to be any covers to them.

i believe they are the stock eyes, i got it used and the guy didnt mention them at least, but the only thing that seems removable is a little plastic washer that is behind the eyes on both sides, it slides over the eyes but is not in the breach it stays in the port where the eye fits into the breach, looks like it prevents the eye from going too far into the breach
