i would go with the proto SLG because out of the box it will shoot 17-20bps and the spyders break down very easily. at some point in time we have all owned a spyder and yet we said i like this gun...then we got a new one and said...."spyders suck"

No brainer, proto, hint hint when you see a mfg selling to mass merchants like walmart and dicks sporting you know they had to find a way to cheapen the entire product line to get they're guns on the shelfs and dont for a second think that a $100 spyder and a $250 dont share many parts cuz they do.......

SLG, but not for the reasons shabizpaintball stated. BPS is the weakest point in getting a paintball gun, as long as it can do 15 bps consistently who gives a flip. The slg because it will be smoother, quieter, less kick, smaller, lighter, and made by a stand-up company. Just buy a feedneck and on/off for it and you have a really nice gun for under 300 bucks.

Agreed.

The only "competative" Spyders out there are the ones with the Balance-Valve System on the inside, otherwise, they're just to loud and clanky.
