Brand new pmr problems

Hi, i just got a pmr and i am very disappointed because it was breaking 1 ball out of every 3 shots i was shotting. It was kind of cold, but no that cold because my friend was using non winter paint and he still didnt break a single ball out of his 2000 shots... the paint i was shotting was diablo heat and it was about 30 degress out? maybe almost 40? anyways, so i switched to winter paint and it was A lot better, but it still broke like 5 balls out of the 300 i shot. If my friends gun didnt even break one ball that was non winter paint, and i broke about 40, then theres something wrong, i couldnt even play it was that bad... if a gun breaks winterpaint... then theres a problem because winter paint is pretty hard to break...

im thinking maybe its a setting that needs to be changed? thats the only though i could possibly think of. Everything is at stock settings...

Please somebody help! :[

Two questions,
1- and this is probably the important one, are your eyes turned on? Eyes off can cause this problem if you're shooting fast.
2- What hopper are you using?

yes my eyes are turned on, :P, but sometimes i have to turn them off cause it gets jammed and its the only way i can get it to work on the field, i turn them off fire and turn them back on and they work again. And im using a halo b, it flashes 3 times, i dunno what setting that is... im kind of new. But its VERY frusterating for spending 300 dollars on a gun and it not to work right. My friend thinks its a problem with a setting in the gun, maybe the dwell? or something? i dont know, im just really frusterated :[

3 flashes is the fastest setting. If it gets "Jammed" just pull the trigger and hold it for one second. If it's getting jammed then it sounds like paint problems. I have owned my PMR for over a year and I'll let you know when I get my first chop. Hell the gun is brand new, you might just need to break it in. Are you sure it's chops and not barrel breaks? I am sure you are mistaking barrel breaks for chops.

i am positive it is my gun, because i used my friend's freak barrel set, in which im buying for it, and yes, the insert was the perfect size for the ball, and it still broke, so its defiantly not my gun... im so upset :[ im going to tecknique sportz right now in IL to have them look at it, but hes just gonna tell me nothings wrong with it... but are you sure the gun just needs to be worn in? like i really think if you spend 300 dollars on a gun, it shouldnt break paint... heck, even 200 it shouldnt... :[

try and see if they might replace it for you if you really think it's the gun.

well there arent any refunds, and i talked to the guy and some other people that own dye and proto guns. And my friend with a dm8 and dm6 both said their guns break a good amount of paint in the winter too. The guy at the store said that pmr's are kind of hard on paint, and the friend i went paintballing with was using a shocker and he said that shocker's arent as hard on paint as the pmr. But i did buy a freak kit (2 piece 6 insert kit) aluminum from my friend and i shot off at least 300 shots and not a single ball broke, i shot about 80 shots of winter ball and 220 shots of diablo heat and not a single break, so maybe it was the barrel? thanks for all your help btw, but i think i fixed it finally! :]

spool valve markers break paint badly in the cold weather. It's simply a part of how they work. To help solve it you can buy lube called orange marmalade, that's specially developed for very temperature.

Different barrels have different bore sizes and different paint has different bore sizes. Too tight of a paint to bore match will equal a **** ton of breaks. If your halo goes up to six flashes then it is a Victory V35 boarded halo.

alright sweet, well when i took the insert outta my barrel the paint didnt go through the barrel, you had to blow it out, but it didnt break a single ball and it was amazingly accurate. So... yea :P but what is the recommended flash setting for my hopper? 3 flashes good? also, should i change any of the dwell settings? any recommended settings for the gun?
