The gun fires just fine when I am actually shooting paint and such but this gun is brand new and I am not used to the whole anti chops eyes so sorry if I sound retarded or something.

the reason it fires if you hold the trigger is such, the pm/dm lines have what they like to call "self cleaning eyes" basically when the bolt passes over the eyes it cleans them. so if they are dirty they need the bolt to pass over them. holding the trigger down tells the computer that you want it to fire to clean the eyes, its called "forced shot"
