I'm a pretty mechanically inclined person. I don't think I'd mess up a gun like an Ego. Hell, I'd probably baby the thing.
Just because you baby the thing doesn't mean you won't mess it up. A friend of mine bought an autococker last year, babied it to death, but, one day, it just simply stopped working. I forget what the problem was, but just because you baby something doesn't mean you won't mess it up.
Plus, it doesn't really matter if you are a "mechanically inclined" person. You might be great with cars, but might not be able to take care of a high end gun properly. Some people on here would say "well I have never had a problem with the gun I have now.", but, that won't work in your case. With a tippmann, all you have to do is lube it every once in a while and you are set. There really isn't anything complicating at all when it comes to low end guns, and you may be suprised how difficult it is to properly mantain a high end gun.
Sorry to rag on you like this, but I hate it when people with low end guns, decide they want high end guns, and think it will be a sinch to maintain those high end guns because they haven't had a problem with their previous guns, or the one(s) they have now.
or u may step up and find out a part on ur gun has a defect like me. And be parted from your love for a month b/c it needs to be fixed by their techs. Good damn i hate that ICD reg w/ a passion now.

Seriously though, it is not THAT hard to maintain a marker. Just...Dont think that you can take it apart just by looking at parts, use common sense, follow your manual, dont **** with stuff when you dont need to, AND FOLLOW YOUR MANUAL. If you do that, you wont have a problem. Taking care of my guns scared me before i got to my ego (ego was first highend gun ive bought) but now im confident and can dissassemble the entire gun, clean it, lube it, and reassemble in about....10 minutes.
I always read the manual. Always have, always will. I really don't think I will have a problem with maintaining a high end gun. Right now it looks like I'm going to get a NME L.E. There was a deal on ebay for an ego, but it was stopped. I'm gonna try to get the NME LE for $600.

why not just get a pimp w/ ghetto board then? If ur using ebay.
I wouldn't get one. One of my friends has one, I don't like it, he doesn't like it as much as he thought he would either. I personally don't really like the feel of pimps. The small trigger frame and the angle that the trigger is at just bugs the hell out of me. His Pimp (also has the ghetto 7 board) is fast, yes, but they are heavy and not very inefficient (he just sent his bolt to some guy on PBN to mod it for better efficiency and flow though). His isn't very consistant either. So are NME LE's, but not as much. I have never shot an NME, but have held a couple and I didn't think it was too bad.
Before you make a final decision on what gun to buy, go to your local field or shop, and ask to hold/shoot a couple guns. Choose the one you like the most, and then look online for good deals on that gun.
