ETek Max ROF
I'm probably getting an ETek soon and the only thing I'm slightly bothered by is the lack of QEV's.
Now I know the stock ETek comes with EVERYTHING you need to compete in a tourney but I'm still wondering. Assuming I get a board that is uncapped (so we're only talking mechanical capabilities here), does anyone know about how many BPS an ETek can pull off without shoot down? I asked this in another forum and someone else said about 28ish. Does this sound accurate?
I know this isn't important since you can't shoot anything over 15 in most tourneys anyway, but I'm REALLY curious. Thanks.

sounds like it, but when will you ever need that? at the most you will be shooting 15, which 9/10s of guns can hit and all mid to high end guns can hit so you really shouldn't be worrying about its max rof

I know it's not important as I stated in my first post. I'm just really, really curious. That's all.
Any other opinions?

I don't really know the max, but it probably wouldn't be that bad. It seems that they worked around the qev's, so i would just go out and try one out on ramping. I shot one a couple weeks ago that was virtue'd with a velocity on it, it was pretty quick but the hoppers batteries were dying so i couldn't really tell how fast it could go. That and the red chrono's aren't very good for bps readings. Kenny is slow he probably didn't even see that you said speed didn't really matter.

it'll be about as fast as an intimidator, since the design is similar. So 25 or more with good settings.

/\ I'm 99.9% sure you can't do that because of the way the frame is milled. At least that's what I've read numerous times online, unless ofcourse there's a mod you guys know about that no other forum does.

Until I can get a confirmation on this, I'd still say there's no way to add even one QEV. I've been searching the net for about 45 minutes on this subject and the only QEV installation instructions I can find are for Ions. Even the "Ultimate Sticky" on PBNation says it's not possible. I think the only way you can get a QEV on an ETek is if you put the frame under a mill. That's something I definitely don't have access to and even if I did, it'd be hard to find someone skilled enough to do it. Even then, that would obviously void the warranty.
So even if it were possible, it's just not worth it.

QEV's will not fit the stock configuration. Meaning you would have to change out the grip frame, or mod it to allow room for the QEV's. (other than that, they drop right in)
I have read a few threads of testing w/ QEV's and they didn't make much difference at all. The etek I had was blazing fast.
QEV's will not contribute to or reduce shoot down. (shoot down is an HPR trade relating to the recharge rate.) QEV's only allow the bolt and hammer to cycle faster.
My suggestion, get the etek and don't look back.
