Just ordered an etek2. Down the line may upgrade with star frame, so what does an 08 EGO have over this ? and were can I get a tip that will fit the etek2 other than black ?

Good Choice. What do you mean by tip? Like a CCU Kit, you can buy them at practially any paintball store.

I meant to say barrel tip, been searching but all they have is the 06 CCU which does not include the barrel, the 07/08 kit that does include the barrel is not compatible with eteks.

Do you have the stock barrel? If you do that should be fine. OH I understand you want a different front for your barrel, I forgot that the ETEK2 came with a 2-piece barrel. If you want a place that carries them try Actionvillage.

I spent quite a bit of time searching around different forums and alot of people have the same question and it really never gets answered besides the type of response you just gave. What I have been zeroing in on is that the dye UL barrels fit the ETEK and I need to know if you have to buy the back also or are the tips interchangeable. PE doese not make a CCU specifically for the etek, you have to get an EGO 06 CCU and they don't come with the barrels, and I don't want to buy the 07 CCU that does not fit the ETEK just to get the barrel. - Jim

most barrel fronts and backs are not interchangable outside the brand.

So if I want to get the dye UL barrel I have to get the back too ?, my preferance would be to get just a dust white PE barrel tip but I have only found them with the 07/08 CCU's

back to my original question, is the ETEK2 + start frame the same as an EGO if not what are the key differences that really mean something ?

yes if u buy the dye ul barrel u have to get the back too, from what i know the UL tips will not fit any other barrel back, most barrel tips do not fit backs that are not made by the same company unless it is said otherwise. Im in the same predicament, i dont like my UL barrel, and i wish that i could slap my ul barrel tip on a ti longbow back because the tip matches my anno.

And differences between the 2 markers, id say google it, go to the manufacturers website, or go to actionvillage or a store that sells them and read the descriptions of both.
