Some starter quiestions
Hi all, I'm new to this. I own a Wal-Mart Viewloader, I can't remember the model name, I don't know where it is right now (lol). I got hooked off that and decided to put some money towards a automatic. I was talking to a guy down at the store I was looking, and he suggested the Piranha GSX, because if I decide to take it to an arena, the E-Frame would let me get in to the "Semi's only" arenas.
I took his advice and I love the gun, the only problem is I like to tweak things, so I was looking for upgrades. I've been to Piranha's site, and they don't list a "Gsx" Can anyone shed some light on this subject? I searched yahoo and this forum, and I didn't come up with too much.

possibly b/c wal-mart doesn't like to carry guns that have the auto feature. Is what i've seen them do w/ spyders (a similar line) is get a "special" version w/ the mode disabled, but it's exactly the same as say the GS (no idea if the GS exists, just an example)
If u bought the gun from the store they can fill u in on all the upgrades. I'd recommend a new barrel (spyder style threads should work) and a electric hopper. A 12v revolution or a reloader II by empire.

Oh sorry, no, the piranha I bought wasn't from wal-mart, and it is Fully auto, I just don't know why I can't find the model. It was from sports mart I believe, if that helps. Oh, and no, the store sucks ass, the only "upgrades" they had were ball tubes.

Possibly because the Gsx is an older model? They don't showcase older modesl, only the new ones.
Why is this in the autococker forum?

Sorry If i put it in the wrong forum, I'm still very new to this. I don't know if it's really that old, I mean I didn't buy it but a couple weeks ago.

You must be getting the name wrong, because there is no such thing as a PMI "gsx".
and for your reference:
This is the autococker section, meant for autococker guns (a specific design, not a category).
You will be better served going here:
http://www.paintballforum.com/forum/...play.php?f=152
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
That is under "stacked tube markers", sub section "Evil/PMI".
Welcome to the forum

I'm not trying to be a idiot noob, the box says "GSX" and so does the Marker. I can try to post pictures on it here if you think it would help.
It has the Eforce frame with 3,6, and i think 12, burst fire, along with semi and full auto fire modes.
Tournament lock,
"custom milled body"
Raised sight rail
10 degree drop forward
and 12+ shots per second
I dunno if this helps, but it would be nice to know what model I really do have lol

yes.
the only exceptions (that i can think of right now) to piranha specific parts that dont fit another:
boss bolt (they have 3 versions...EVO, flush cocking, non flush cocking)
ram air/LPC (cant fit GTI or R6...those are "lower end" piranhas, and were manufactured slightly differently)
as far as upgrades that will work:
universal (will fit any gun):
i'll list some good brands for each part
regulator - sidewinder, torpedo, detonator, custom products (cp), and if you are running co2, get the palmers stabilizer (it does work just as well for HPA, but it is the best for co2)
hopper/loader - halo, viewloader 12v, empire reloader
HPA/N2 - crossfire, pure energy, air america
drop forward/unimount - really...get the one that seems like it would be comfortable for you. also may cone as a combo with on/off.
spring kit - i like the shocktech kit personally
on/off asa- really, these are a preference thing too as far as brand is concerned. get one that has a bleed off.
macroline- used as a replacement for your steel hose, you would need a whole kit. if blows, its really easy to change out and it can be cut to any size.
gauges - dont buy a cheap one. palmers makes really good gauges
gun specific parts:
these must specify the they will work for piranha
valve - turbo, evil
bolt - boss bolt (the only one worth having)
trigger frame - e force (but it sounds like you already have one)
barrel - your gun will accept a barrel with spyder threads - smart parts, cp, j+j, dye, evil. anything longer than 14" will slow down your ball speed, and none of them will make you shoot farther (i dont care what the manufacturer says)
feed neck- piranha's take inpulse threadede feednecks. im not sure you can change yours...GSX is not a model i recognize (it may be a special edition, like someone else said)
i guess thats most of them....
welcome to PBF

OK I finnaly found you!!! lol. anyways, i don't know if i already know this or not, but like do you need pads when you go to an arena or what? And what is the thing with colors on the gun? is it better to have dark or light or what? anywho...

pads arent necessary....its all up to you. i am in need of knee pads....mostly cuz im old. i dont try to protect myself from the paint (i.e. chest protector, neck protector....) cuz it dont really bother me to get hit. of course, it is required for you to wear a mask at any field, a PB traveling at 300 feet per second will hurt your vision/face permanently.
as far as gun colors, thats also another style choice. a lot of woods ball players like dark colors, for hiding and want not. at an "arena", colors dont matter that much, since its close range fighting, and your are not really hiding...most of the time other players will know where you are anyways. so, get the "pretty one"

Ok, so I emailed Piranha a while back and they answered, just for everyones info:
Mike,
The GSX is our newest marker to be released in the Piranha line. I
apologize for the manual they are in the process of being updated.
Internaly the GSX is the same as the GTI. Visit this link for more info
on your marker: http://www.buypmi.com/gsx.pdf
Drop me a line if you have any other questions.

Yeah, however I just noticed that the top of my bolt looks like it's scrapping the barrel, is that adjustable? (the bolt I mean)

Don't worry about the bolt. Normal on all blowbacks and won't hurt anything, just keep it lubed.
