The EVO
Now, I've read some posts and done some reasearch on teh EVO...even asked a guy down at Fox 4 paintball this weekend about it. I really like the different feature of the gun and the performance it can spit out...now if I were to get this gun, would it be able to allow me to compete with the high end guns? I know you have to be realistic and say that it's not an angel or a DM4, but can it at least put me near them without spending 1400 bucks. I currently have a piranha and I would like to keep the stuff ive bought for it because i spent some good money.

It's a decent gun. I would ALMOST rank it with like Impulses and Bushies, but it is still a Piranha, and that name will hold you down.
Basically what you're getting is a 20bps gun, but there ARE a few problems out there in EVOS:
*Shoot click shoot click is a common problem
*Lots of people are having problems with the eyes
*LOTS of problems with random internals, but they're easily replace (for free) by PMI.

it spits out a decent bps. dunno about 20 though..
but it is a blow back.. so your gonna deal with a tit bit of recoil,, especially at high ROF.. which means you lose a bit of accurcy when shooting strings or bursts..

I have a evo and prefer it over my mags, cocker and rainmaker. I will say if you plan on buying a new one spend the extra $50 and get a used omen off of ebay. I bought a full omen package gun, tank, remote, and egg 2 for $275. and it rips.
more to tune and upkeep but a bit more performance.
If you do want to go evo you'll have no prob. keping up with high end markers. it says 20 bps but I have been able to only get it up to 12.5 a second and that was ripping!

a fish cant hit 20BPS..i thought it was like 14-16..not 20...your saying it can hit 20bps yet its not as good as an imp or bushy?
if this 20bps thing is true..then it should be able to run with the best of them, timmys, shockers, etc.

the marker is capable of shooting 20bps but good luck shooting that fast. with the boss trigger I'm sure you can shoot faster than the stock trigger but with my stock trigger I shot up to 12.5 bps

evos seem pretty nice, but id have to see 20 to believe it...from any blowback. shooter says he can get 12, really that's probably fast enough to "keep up appearances". sure a timmy can do 25, but do you ever really need to throw 25 balls in a second? imagine snap shooting, are you really gonna be able to hit that 25 mark in that 1 second? i doubt it. most people that ive seen throw ropes take a couple/few seconds to get up to that speed, and its not during a game, its at the chrono or a empty bunker between games. i think you could probably hold yourself fairly well with an evo, despite the fact that its a blowback.

The only thing that would make it a big turn off, is the recoil from the blowback. Though, it is neglible if you can hold steady

anyone who hits 20-25 on this forum is pretty much lying or doing it without paint or air, which in essence isn't shooting 20 bps.

you can only shoot 20 bps with a boss blade trigger...
stock trig only reaches 15 bps
the piranha name wont hold you down!!

all you people are noobs... seriously. 20 bps isnt that hard to hit with paint and air.
and changing the trigger wont increase or decrease bps, its just that flat faces triggers are more confortable for some people to walk.
many believe that blowbacks have a bigger cps(cycles per second) then most electro pneumanics.
but reason of electro pneumanics hittinh very high bps is because of the all most no recoil, and its like walking your finger on a desk, and with a blow back its more like walking a blender...
think what you want, piranhas are low class guns, i have a piranha, i love it for the price, but ones i got my impy i never touched my piranha again.. it just cant compit with the accuracy, quietness, and speeds that i get from my impulse.

yes
bps is increased by a nbew trig
the boss blade
becase the stock trigger will allow 20 bps MAX...it doesnt spring back fast enough to shoot another ball in the same second....
and you think im a noob

ha, a new trig does nothing for bps, yes it may make it easyer to reach the cap but its not going to change the set rate, i can shoot faster on my trigger now then i can with rosses blade, its just which ever u feel more comfitable with

Seriously... the BPS limit is controlled by the board, not the damn trigger.
