Sear needs replacement?

The last few times I went balling, if I held my triger down, sometimes the sear wouldn't catch andI'd just start to sputter. Not like a fart sputter, the kind of sputtering that goes on for 5 or 6 seconds.

I theorized that its my sear not returning properly. This could either be the hammer, sear, or sear spring that needs replacement. Ideas?

could be alot of things, but first thing you should check is the sear spring, it could have gotten too loose, or even fell out.
Check That.

Like its trying to shoot full auto?

have you broken the gun down to ispect the parts? check the sear to make sure the spring is working, then inspect it for dammage or wear. the sear may have scratches or grooves on top, those are ok but the most important part is the corner that catches the hammer. If that or the hammer is starting to round you may have to go in with a file and square them back up. One of the g3's that I built up had the crappiest looking piece of unrefined metal sears that I have seen. I cleaned it up with a grinder and pollished it, massive improvement in the action.
I am sure it can be saved, but first you need to identify the true issue. check your main spring too.

The sear spring is fine. I did a trigger job the other day (I took ou the trigger spring and put two externam magnets on the outside.. Works uber light and uber well).

Not sure what it is. I think its the sear or hammer. Its not rounded at all. I think I'm going to take it to school (I don't have any files at home) and sharpen it a bit.

Please dont.
The only think you changed was the trigger job? did you follow instructions?
if you didnt, here is what the problem could be
PROBLEM - E-Force trigger frames have a little round thing, looks like one of those big batteries, called a solenoid. The solenoid inside of it has a spring, and a little metalic circle which is broken in one point, and one end is high then the other.
if the magnets that you got have to much attraction, they could disturb the circuit and cause the solenoid to not function properly. Since the magnets are located lower in the trigger frame then the solenoid, they could be attrating the little part that pushes the sear and that can cuase some major sear/farting/ recocking problems.

SOLUTION - If its possible, try removing the magnets and seeing if the problem still occurs, if not, then you know its the magnets.
if it is the magnets, there are acouple of steps you can do to solve the problem.
One thing you can try, and i highely recommend it, is putting some kind of blocker... something that will stop the magnet attraction beside either the solenoid or behind the magnets in the trigger frame.

- try these steps and tell me how it goes.

No Eforce, its a G3. Mech. I know what a solenoid is. I know every part of my marker more then anything. I know what I'm doing, what stuff is called, how it works, and why stuff won't work.

The problem:

My marker will shoot fulla uto when I hold the trigger down (it still recocks itsself). IT doesn't happen every time. IT doesn't hinder my game.

From my EXTENSIVE knowledge on paintball markers, I have concluded that the sear is not catching the hammer. Common logic would tell me that each sputter would have less energy then the last, and the gun would eventually fail to recock itsself, however that isn't the case.

If you took the time to look at post times, I did the trigger job about a month and a half AFTER the problem came to my attention.

I am not a newbie. I know how my markers work inside and out. This is obviously a rare circumstance since I have never heard of anythign like this since the G3 was made.

My marker is a Piranha G3. I added a foregrip, 14" JJ ceramic barrel, I only use air on it, I use an empire reloader, and I know how the physics of my marker 1000%.

PMI has good customer service.

Im not sure if I'll even do anythign to it. I'll try it out at a game adn see if my marker is actually shooting full auto when I hold it down. Its not hindering my game at all...

IF it ain't broke don't fix it...
