in the fall if you need some cover pound some steaks into the ground and prop up some big leaf bags on them. people are usualy happy to give them away.
Something you might want to look into is stuff from a junk yard.
You can get trashed out car/truck parts that could add all kinds of things bunkers, decoration (a couple old mufflers stick stick out the top off a bunker).
best pice of car junk to field pice was an old transmission case used as the base of the flag pole
EDIT:
Just be sure to file down any sharp corners, cutting your self on a rusty muffler is not fun,
you forgot one thing, and it can be the most interesting cover in a field, actual old rusted out cars, or even just 80s cars from the junkyard, once theve been parted out junkyards are usually pretty happy to be rid of em, you are definatly right about filing down edges though

So, how about some suggested field dimensions (speedball) for the different team sizes? What are the ranges of lengths and widths for 3v3 and 5v5 indoor and outdoor fields?

I'm sorry but pallets suck to many cracks unless you get skids witch are closed up but they make the field look bad. I built my field on a 132 ft x 64 ft area. And I made the snake out of tires. And all the other bunkers out of cedar slabs. You can get them anywhere, one example is a lumber mill. Or all kinds of slabs work good. And i nailed the slabs onto fence posts and dug 2 1/2 foot holes for the posts with post hole digger. The bunkers were about 5.5 ft wide and 4.6 ft tall. Alot of work but in the end it was good. Then i used empty electrical spools for a few more bunkers. looks are important if your field is next to your house so make it look good and good for playing. Supplys are easy to come buy. I made my field for a total of 30$ and it is a pimp speedball field. I also have a nice woods ball field but i wont get into that but here is some of the stuf i have on it ... plastic garbage cans... cinder blocks stacked... fox holes with spools on top... hay bails... ect... sorry no pics but i will have them soon acctuly just finished this field.

One cheap way you can make a filed is by spending a little money on the cheepest plywood you can find and turn it into shields. It makes for a quick and effective speedball field. I built a hybrid arena, Its got speedball shields in a clearing and trees surrounding it. Check it out for ideas! I have a lot of pics on my site, Pine Bluffs Paintball Official Website!
Good luck!!
