Building Your Own Field
I began playing paintball about 3-4 years ago. I bought my first marker, a Spyder Imagine and began playing with my 4 friends. One friend had the same gun as I did and the other had a Tippmann 98C. Another friend that I rarely saw had a Piranha and my other friend just borrowed a gun from somebody. About 2 days after recieving my marker I took action. We went to a local Oil company that i knew the owner off and had 4 Steel Drums delivered to my house. We also borrowed the Johnson Oil. Truck and drove around to local bussiness' getting palets and tires.
By the end of the day we had made a field consisting of
4 Steel Drums
2 big sheets
8 Palets
5 Tires
This was built over the huge hill behind my house in the woods back there. We had fun with it for awhile, but soon noticed that it was a huge piece of **** and decided to "upgrade."
My Neighbor is quite a junk collector. Behind his house he has a road that leads to a large barn and a huge junk yard contained by four large walls. He decided to give us 100 Ft. or so of this thick black tarp type material. His son and I tested it out and shot it a few times and it held up pretty good. So we spent all day putting this up around the whole field and were excited to have a few kids over the next day to play. After a few shots to the same area the tarp began to give way and you would get hit. This really sucked.
We then ripped all of the tarp down and got about 15 sheets and old blankets and nailed them up. These worked really well. We used these for probably 2 years while adding on every once in awhile. We eventually put large wooden privacy fencing out there and dug a huge fox-hole.
PHEEEEEEEWWWW....
Here I am today, with my Tippman A-5 and obviously need to upgrade my field.
My dad has decided that this summer we are going to go out there and construct a large frame and build a building. I also have ripped down all sheets and blankets and tarps and taken all nails from the trees and completely stripped it.
When all of our snow melts, I am going to stack up all of the good sheets of privacy fencing. I am also driving an ATV with trailer on it out there and loading it with all of the garbage and sheets and junk from the field.
Then the building will be constructed and all of the bunkers will be securly placed with a gas powered nail gun. The fox hole will be re-dug and all bunkers will be solid plywood and privacy fencing.
Also everything, including the house and all bunkers, will be painted black.
SOOOOOOOOOOO.......
I thought I would update you with where I am right now on my field.
I also was wondering if anybody had any ideas for good bunkers that are not cheap and also look good.
