field guy started charging
ok, so i play at this little local woodsball field and it was always free and he'd fill your c02 no cost (you could make a donation if u wanted to. which i always did) anyways, all of a sudden he started charging $5 a player to come. and i dont have a problem with it cuz i mean u gotta make some money if people r using ur stuff right? well theres a group of kids at my school sayin how their never gonna go to clarinces (the field i play at) because they say hes an a$$ for charging all of a sudden. Ive tried to tell them that $5 and BYOP and $1 cO2 refill is awesome but they wont listen. do you guys have any suggestions as to what i should say to them?
EDIT:i just realized this should probably be in the field info part could someone move it? sorry

just let them play at the other field, if its much more expensive then theyll prolly go back, if its not then they might as well just stay at the better field.

Get them to go another field and have them see how much it costs compared to the one that charges 5 bucks.

the closest field around here is REALLY expensive...20 bucks for entry, 100 bucks for a case of paint (no byop) and 10 bucks for a co2 refill...went there one time...havent gone back since
but 6 bucks plus whatever the cost of your paint isnt bad at all....i just pay for paint though so i got it easy...me and my friends have our own fields and our own fill station...when the fill station tank is empty we just all chip in and get more

tell them to visit any other woodsball field. they all seem to have the highest prices and the worst facilities. tell them to stop being stupid and take advantage of the opportunity to play woodsball at a low price.

they should just be happy, they dont realize how good that price is, at the price he charges the price you pay in a week or two, i would probably spend in a day or two.

my field is $20 entry including all day air. BYOP but you can buy paint at the field if you want, they have a few brands and it is priced reasonably.
i play pump, so i never buy a case, just 500 balls for about $15-$23. sometimes i buy it at the field.

$5 is dirt cheap. Heck, unless he owns the CO2 tank (price approx $200) its costing him $15 a month just in rent and $50 to refill (50 lb cylinder, about 34-40 lb effective CO2).
Seriously, I operate a private friends only woodsball field - no charge, BYOP, but do charge $3 or $4 for fills depending on size of CO2 tank just to break even on my rental costs of the CO2 tank. I do it so I have a cheap and free place to play, but you need some cost recovery for the expense of running the tank - minimum. That doesn't even count the other costs my brother and I incur.
You have the right attitude and I'm sure the other will learn soon enough.
Best of luck - Smoke
