New Feild/Store Input

Hello,

I am writing this thread to get input from a large variety of Paintball Players to get a good variety of input.

I am in the process of getting information and funding for a Paintball/Airsoft Feild and Store outside of Springfield, IL. Unfortunatly, I have always been more into Airsoft then Paintball, but I want to include the Paintball market at the feild as well. I am going to be hiring several Paintball Players to help with running the Paintball aspect of operations.

But I wanted to get peoples opinions on what brands to stock for Paintballs (Field Paint, Tournement Paint, etc..) as well as guns for rentals and sales.

I also wanted to get an idea of how many people use what types of gas for their guns (Co2, HPA, Nitrogen) to igure out what to have the most of on stock at all times. I know that Co2 has always been a big one, but I don't know how popular HPA and Nitrogen are.

I am mainly trying to get the ideas of what Paintball Players Need and Want to see on the field so that way the store and feild work best for both aspects of the players who frequent it.

Thank you,
Joker

forget nitrogen, i can say that. HPAs a must. Co2, maybe not as much, maybe more. so if you can, have both.

HPA is defiantly a must, literally no one at the fields in my area use co2. X.O. V1 is a decent paint to use, my field sells it for 35 a case & DXS Recsport for 40 a case.

Sounds good for a standard field paint to use.

I am planning on making it a 'Feild Paint Only' site, becuase the Insurance likes that that better. Is that frowned upon by most players? Or is it generally accepted?

And what should I have available for tournament grade paint? Any good brands for that? Are there differences between 'field paint' and 'tournament paint'? Or is it all just hype?

I am also working on trying to get a deal to sell Q-Loader products there as well for in hous customizations and supplies. Do many people use/like Q-Loaders? Or should I jsut stick to standard hoppers?

well, for the paint, you should allow players to bring their own paint too. some people like that, others dont like being held for ransom of field fee and a case of paint.
it is a difference, somewhat. let someone else tell you about the differences of paint.
as for the q loaders, i have seen one or two being used personally. most people dont even have them, let alone want to customize and mess with them. though those who do may like it. stick to halos and reloader bs and vlocitys, as well as gravity hoppers.

I'm no field owner, but it seems to me that asking what players want is going to give you a lot of bad ideas for a business model.

Imagine if a hardware store asked you what you wanted hem to do. You'd come up with all sorts of outrageous ideas that will make you VERy happy, but will give them very little profit.

That is true. But this is also not the only place I am looking. I'm looking at reviews, other forums, local players, other fields. I am just using as many different avenues to get as much information as possible, then cross reference it all to see how many people say the same thing about certain items and then go from there.
