1. Sup air field - Very fun way to play paintball. Uses diferent bunkers such as bricks, doritios, snakes, beer cans, tacos, and more. All bunkers are inflated, but balls still break on impact. Bunkers are quite large, so you get good cover. Basically, my favorite way of playing paintball.
2. Hyperball - This can be fun, if its the right field. Hyperball is a bunch of different tubings. Large enogh for good cover and you can stick your barrel against the bunkers to tuck in better.
3. Woodsball - The cheapest and original way to paintball. Using anything as your bunker whether it be trees, grass, anything! Great hiding spots like creeks and high up in trees. i recomend picking up some camoflauge for this one.
Feel fee to discuss or add anything else. I will edit the sticky if anything should be added.
A square field, all inflatable bunkers, with a huge inflatable X in the middle

my field used to have a field like that... we called it the rat field.. it had anything from old cars to mounds of dirt as bunkers.
we also used to have a field we called X ball even tho it wasnt real x ball.. all it had around the whole field was wood planks about 4 feet hihg and they made X's on the field. an overhead view would be like this
Woodsball is fun. LOL I had a white shirt on, not smart.
I fought a few times in a City field with buildings you can go inside etc... I like this because it was tactical and required speach and communication with your team. The best communicating team wins, not necessarily the best shooters.
By far my favorite was a hyper field that had short bunkers and somewhat small. The field had tactical positions but by far the best shooters won.
To sumamrize, I had the most fun in the city and had the most adrenaline pumping in the hyper. A good mix of each is a balanced meal!
We call our field an Urban style field, since it matched urban fighting (it was used by New Mexico Tech to train CT at one point) areas. Where would that fit in the catagories?
