as staded earler it is about your prefrences. in my opinion i like both, but lean a little towards woodsball. speedball is faster, thus makes it seem more difficult. i preffer senario, whare there is an abjective such as king of the hill and capture the flag. I prefer closer to millitary, and longlasting games. the person who started this thread just created one big ass, never ending argument.

i dont like woodsball because is less exciting and challenging, besides, how can you be looking good when your laying next to a tree in a ghillue suit? you cant.

I think i tend to incorporate speedball tactics into woodsball. Some of my friends newer to the sport stay hunkered down all the time...and THAT gets boring (and it's not that great if they're on your team).
What's great is when you can run circles around your opponents in the woods, finding different angles to shoot at them, and they can't find you or hit you 'cause of the brush.
I like them all. But scenario is my favorite of all time. It has the tactics and woodsie feeling of woodsball, but the firefights and intense rush of speedball. Like being indoors trading pop shots with a guy across the hall. Then telling you commander that you found a sniper and are moving slowly through the forest to flush him out.
I'm all about woodsball. Speedball is totally based on how much on how much you can pay for your guns and how much your friends can play for a gun. Woodsballs anyone can compete with a basic gun if they have the skill. If you know your gun and use strategy you can be a competitor. Plus its way more chill. You can do what you want and bring what you want.

They both have there strengths and weaknesses
Speedball is amazing for quick games and improving your individual skills whereas woodsball is really good to bring new players into without being intimidating, and you focus more on large team tactics (more than 10 being a large team)
That being said, many speedball teams are usually more skillful and can shred the average competition at a woodsball/recball field.
The one thing that I think is better about woodsball is the fact that you can pull off 300+ person games. Not saying that one is better than the other, just different.

Speedball tactics work in woodsball
Woodsball tactics can work in speedball, just a little more difficult to implement (take 'tree-walking', you can do the same in speed, and it's great for getting the extra sneaky angle in a 2 v 1 situation etc)
Thats what I think, and it is also why mags rule
(all mech so no batteries to die in the woods, and can rip it up on the speedball field, just wish the no RT rule could be lifted for mags, they all have them stock)
I love woodsball. I also play speedball. My personal opinion is that speedball takes more skill. In woodsball you can take more time and maybe get a better and more accurate shot. Speedball you don't have as much time but the game alot of the time goes faster. I guess it depends how fast you are and how good too. I'm just a beginner but that's my opinion.

People try to confuse suspense with adrenaline, and say speedball has more adrenaline so its better, and it is, if your preference is for adrenaline. I personally prefer the more mind-f**king aspect of suspense. But im a sick twisted SOB. When your in an andrenaline rush suspense doesnt exist, its the lack of the adrenaline that allows that gradually intensifying feeling of suspense to consume every fiber of your being as you know with each step you take your chances for confrontation fold over themselves and not knowing what the exact terrain is going to be when finally discovering eachother and not knowing what your next movement is going to be and how many enemies are going to be there and how will they be positioned and what do you do if situation X happens and what the hell was that noise you just heard!?!!!?? WAS THAT THEM? OH **** THERE IT IS AGAIN, oh wait, its just a deer.

For me, I don't find woodsball all that suspensful. I find it a bit boring. Unless it's wet outside. I hate sliding in the mud. If it's muddy, I play all woodsball, no speedball. Otherwise I'm MUCH more fond of speedball. I like fast paced sports, and I consider speedball a sport. But I play both still.
What gives? Everyone who likes speedball likes woodsball. Everyone who likes woodsball hates speedball. Why? Without woodsball speedball wouldn't have existed. And hey woodsballers, speedball is MUCH harder then woodsball.
This argument pisses me off more then the spyder vs tippmann argument. People are biased. In the gaming world, we call this being a fanboy. "Oh look at me I have an xbox. PS2 sucks".
This is tearing paintball apart. Woodsballers get based for liking milsim stuff and its wrong. And the woodsballers are always pissing on speedball and saying how it takes no skill to play.
What the hell. WE're all paintballers here. WHY? WHY do you not like speedball? WHY do you not like woodsball? I just dont get it. Isn't it possible to like both?
A whole lot of hate towards woodsball from speedball comes from younger speedball punks. I'm talking about the 15yr olds with Egos, Dms , flashy grips, etc

I feel like woodsball and especially pump is like the Indy music of paintball. Its going back to the roots and its more about having fun, whereas (this is personal tourny exp) speedball is all about sponsors and winning

personally i prefer woodsball because if you dont play on a regular team, then theres a higher chance youd get owned in speedball, but in woodsball even if your team sucks you could still pull out a victory due to your own skill whilst in speedball its kinda like shoot fast and hope u dont get hit, i like both and played both but generally i like woodsball better simply because im a tactical kinda guy. i dont like the game that is over in 5 minutes.
