You can have them milled to accept Freak Inserts, if it becomes a problem.
I wouldn't use a .696, as I live in Massachusetts. New England winters.....
I usually use a Pipe Kit with Stiffi tip.

I realize that taking the LPR is easy, but i'm that lazy and I've adopted a moto for paintball that "If it works, leave it the hell alone."
I have the newer stock barrel with the huge bore size of .696, I live in wisconsin and the cold weather we have is really hurting right now (much like Massachusetts but with a little more snow and no ocean effect). My barrel distorys a ball about once per hopper or 2, so I'm looking at getting a kit.
I've read about putting freak inserts in the 007, but I'd raither have a real kit. I'm selling my older Angel for about $200 anyway so I'll have the $ for a nice kit.
Thought about a deadly wind, but it's a little to pricy for me (whole $200 isn't for a barrel kit), and I actually don't like how light it is. I've played around with evolkers2003's deadly wind barrel and I decided I want a little heavyer barrel. Also I don't like supporting Smarts Parts even if it is just in inserts.
Looking at a CP kit right now, I've always liked those barrels. The one-peice that I've seen in the past was real nice (again evolkers2003's barrel).

My season started yesterday, with a 1st place finish. and I understand what you mean but for that barrel I'll get used to it lol. Empire barrel kits are alright, I haven't used one bored up though. Is it the one that is basically a scepter kit?

No, it's the older style kit, with barrel backs and so on. I'm not a big fan of inserts. Plus the kit was cheaper. lol.

Man speaks the truth, if you plan on keeping your Tippman get a kit. If it was a low-end spyder I'd say stay away though.

i know you probably figured this out by now but for future quest users:
When you adjust the LPR in it, it will kind of fluctuate from adjustment which is why it is important to adjust a little and fire it a couple times before you do it again.

well fine then
just putting it out there. It is also a reminder that you have to adjust it out of the box.
