Well when I first got my quest the LPR would slowly creep down a little bit, but since it's been broken it, I havn't had a problem with it.
Yesterday I was playing with my LPR at 80. The marker shot nice all day long. No problems. But at the beggining of each game the LPR would have creeped up to about 150 psi... after one shot (which I would take before the game started) the LPR was back to 80. It was sunny and 70 degrees.
I'm thinking the extra pressure was from the air heating up inside my marker cause it to have more pressure. but I'm not sure so I figured I'd post about it and see what you guys think. Could one shot like this start to hurt my quest?
Your LPR is experiencing reg creep. I'd def. have it replaced because it can cause your noid to blow. I MIGHT just be able to pick one offa my cousin's quest if you want.

Yea, it could blow the noid if it gets to high, but I'm pretty sure I can limp it along for awhile without any problems.... what does your cousin not use his quest, or is it broken or what??
Does the whole LPR need to be replaced or just the spring.... cause from the research I've done it sounds like I have a weak spring is all.. Is that right?
If your not going to buy his Quest, I might. Let me know.
Well from reading the manual, the noid isn't going to be damaged untill i'm in the 200 range for pressure. And with it being a hot day and stuff i'm thinking it was just the air expanding in the marker... My LPR spring probbly isn't stong enough to stop it from raising pressure like that, but if I just disconnect the air between games or just shoot once in awhile it should be fine. During a game, their was no flucuation what so ever so I'm guessing its not that big of a problem.
I e-mailed criticalpaintball about an LPR spring but I havn't gotten one back yet.
Hey whatever works. My old epiphany was having ref creep so every five minutes or so I'd have to shoot it or turn it off. I must say though the noid in that gun is def. legit. There were a few times that the pressure went far beyond the guages needle(300 psi) and it never leaked at all.

Yea, with paintball stuff i follow the moto, if it an't broke, don't fix it. Because whenever you try to "fix" something that dosn't really need it you just end up with 10 new problems. I'll just keep my eye on the gague and shoot faces.
UL'd PMR, I am trading it off for a UL'd PM6 soon though. I have a job and I am prolly gonna take my first paycheck or two and get either a nice quest or a PM8. Depends on how much either are but I'll prolly be picking up a Quest(not that I prefer it over the proto, cuz I love the pm8's, it will just be cheaper).

They didn't take the LPR out, it has a vertical design LPR allowing the design to be pulled back like that(makes it really comfortable to wrap your hand around). The looks are preference, I love the way it looks. Not to mention it comes stock with a UL frame AND the self cleaning eye system.

mmmm a vertical LPR desing... interesting... still looks horrible. lol, sorry but it's just ugly. Expecially when Dye/Proto has always been about sexy markers...
How is the PM8 on efficency, I still don't think it's going to compare to the Quest for tha. I really hope FEP gets their act together and comes out with the Q8 or what ever their new marker is suppose to be.
It's gets around 1700-1800 tuned correctly. Most people thought the M8 was ugly at first sight, I saw it and thought it was dead sexy. To each his own though. The self cleaning eyes are far from over hyped, they were when they first came out(given they failed miserably). But the new design is def. legit.

I think 17-1800 might be a abit overestimating. Mines well broke in and fairly well tuned, and I can't break 1600 (although I could probably hit 1600 on a FULL 4500 fill). I also agree with that I found the M8 to be the best looking gun Dye had ever produced when I first saw it. Sexiest gun I own IMO. Shoots better than just about everything else I own too (the o3m still shoots better, and gets better efficiency).
