If my friend that is local doesn't buy it, I'm going to sell one of the gunmetal ones, yes. Here's the thread I posted for it over on the nation. But I'm going to give preferential treatment to my buddy since he's local and I wouldn't have to ship.
I like the gloss blue better than red, but it is GORGEOUS, is it not??
that thing is gorgeous.
so shiny.
i want a quest even more now. near to next purchase...

man that is a nice gun
and you bring 6 or 7 guns to the field jeeze lol
oh and btw my mom was going to let me buy that quest off ebay but my dad told her not to for 2 reasons:
A. it was used and on ebay which he really doesnt like because he says you never know what your buying
B. because he doesnt think i need a new gun

You never do know what you're buying. I got this in and there was old slimy, dried up paint EVERYWHERE. I literally tore it down completely, so that not a single thing remained and started cleaning. Then swapped in the parts I wanted, put it back together, shined her up some, and aired it up to verify everything worked great.
While it's true that buying used has some inherent risk, there are lots of ways to minimize it:
1. Buy from someone that has good feedback. Whether on ebay or on forums.
2. Pay with Paypal, DO NOT do money orders. Paypal isn't the greatest, but they will at least ATTEMPT to get your money back if someone tries to scam you.
3. If buying from a forum, ask for a dated picture of the marker, or even better, a dated video of it firing.
Of my markers that I've had in the last 5 years, I'd say 25-30 of them were bought used. Only 2 markers were bought new, both of which I still own (Odyssey o3m, $130 and WGP 05 Superstock, $180 including an on/off and clamping feedneck), although neither is stock anymore (and 1 of them has almost no stock parts). Of those, I've never had MAJOR issues. I had a few minor ones, such as bad orings, loose screws, etc. The worst was one of my A1's had a bad eye wire, which the seller was upfront about, and that's part of the reason I got a mad good deal on it.
Now convincing your parents to let you BUY a new one...that's another story. Although truth be told if your current marker works fine, you don't NEED a new one...you just want something nicer that performs better. It might be easier to take that route with your parents, convince them to get you something newer not because you need it, but because now that you know you enjoy the game, and want to continue playing, you want something that can keep up with anything on the field.

I don't usually pull them all out at once. I usually pull 2 setups out, plus a Quest. I always take an extra Quest because one guy at my field absolutely ADORES them, and always wants to borrow it. I usually get 2 full setups ready because I can never decide what to use, so I swap between setups each time I come off the field.
But yeah, I get a lot of people that always congregates at whatever table I set up on since everyone there knows me (I've been playing at that field for 14 years).
Well, I will shortly be offering it up. I just bought a gloss blue one like I wanted, so I am going to put the the GM bolt and pin into the blue one when it arrives and then sell the gunmetal one off fairly cheap.

Probably right around $200 assuming no leaks and everything works properly. I just know the blue one has the "stock" board (FEP used 4 different boards stock, so that's not really saying all that much), so it'll probably be a gumetal w/ CP on/off, stock bolt & pin, WAS board and Bob Long Assassin barrel.
ah. i may buy that. if i were to trade/sell my ir3.
