ok recent threads that i have subscribed to and wen people reply i dont get sent an email but the older threads ive subscribed to like (1+ week ago) i get emails wen sum1 replies so wuts the problem here

Go into your control panel, then go to the options, make sure that the Use 'Email Notification' by default? thing is marked on yes to be sent email notification. If that's not it then I don't know.
