a FAQ

maybe the forum should get a FAQ about all the common things like snipers/choosing a gun/etc. it might help reducing the ammount of repeated threads

So how would making a FAQ help, it would just be ignored.

Why do you think it would be any different having a FAQ forum? It would only work the same as stickys do, which you said yourself they get overlooked.

In the next round of forum upgrades (coming soon!), look for new and improved stickies that are easier to see and read

The term I gave for what we're looking to do is "One sticky to rule them all"

For now, that's all I can tell you

GO LOTR!!! I am an huge fantasy nerd (dont go as far as dressing in cloaks and playing AD&D though)

Anyway, people really need to have their attention brought to stickies because they are posting something on the subject of EXACTLY what a stickie will adress.

This is why a FAQ forum will do nothing, because people are too lazy to just search or look at the top of a forum, if they dont bother to even view a sticky that says Read Here Before Posting or All about <insert a subject> then people are not going to even bother looking in a forum dedicated to these same questions......because people are lazy and just think "Hey ill post it and get a response, I dont feel like reading four pages about the same subject" some dont even think at all, they just post it, thinking nothing of it.

And im sorry if im trashin on a new idea you're bringin to the forum Duo, but theres nothing really we can do about it, untill people just learn to read the forums a lil more often before they just start posting every question they have.......the only thing that needs to happen is for the mods to be more aware of the repeats of questions, and also what was addressed in a sticky, then make a post either saying to look at a certain sticky, or say its already been posted, then lock the thread, give it a couple days and then delete....then people will start to catch on that HEY! maybe im not the only one with this problem, maybe I should read more often...........well thats my 2 cents....sorry again Duo.....your idea sounds great though....I still think somethin needs to be done about the postings (Lock, wait, delete) three easy steps

No need to apologize, bro It's constructive criticism, and there's nothing wrong with that

We will be combining stickies so there aren't as many to read, but with repeat threads your idea is a very good one Perhaps before we close it, mods post a link to the sticky; when the person who started the thread checks back on it, he/she will see exactly why it was closed.

And of course, delete it after a while

Yeah thats what im sayin......the only post within that thread should be the moderator's, and it should show the person where their question can be answered......and give them the hint that a lot of questions are already answered or stickied
