if mods close or delete this thread..i think it would be dumb...b/c this is a very good topic for people to talk about...

what is the purpose of closing threads? I mean is the forum limited to the number of threads it can have? In not then who gives a **** if a newb brings up a topic that has already been posted like 3 months ago..he wasnt here for it...and you guys and the gay search button crap...who cares if the newb didnt search and you have to answer one question again...

like say im on a marker forum and i ask someones opinion on why my marker is firing wierd....who cares if someone else are posted about almost the exact same problem..maybe it isnt completly the same...

and like spamming.....who cares if a newb posts dumb **** in someones thread....swearing, or being offensive to osmone..or hurting someones feeling on [urpose..ok thats different...but like...if a newb goes into a thread and just posts like "blah" and presses enter...WHO THE **** CARES...you got some of you guys that just sit there at your computer all day and have nothing better to do but complain about every dumb thing on the forum like its your damn day job....get a life man....

if this gets deleted i dont care...im just expressing my opinion and i thought it was a great topic...

multiply all the old questions coming up by every member. thats alot of threads, and thats why they want people to search

and if everyone was making posts like "OMGZ YOO SUX0R CUZ IMA SNIPER!!" the forum would suck. 1 or 2 spams ok no big deal, but theres alot of people, they cant let every member go around posting crap.that defeats the point of the forum.

im gonna move this over to suggestions and stuff. Mods have a job to do and normally the closings or deletions are made quick. we don't sit and diliberate on whether to close it. But if some person walks in as there first posts and asks the same question that is in the 1st page in say new player section already a few other times its better to ask them to search for a few minutes and close the thread then have a hand full of long time members come in and rip them a new ahole.

The reason we CLOSE threads is because we have a responsibility to keep this forum a sane place for people to come to. If it has no moderation of content then no one would come back because they would get flamed. Just like in the real world, you have to treat people with respect and act intelligent here on the forum.

Now, that may prompt you to ask "why not just delete the thread instead of letting it sit there closed?" The reason for that is the same reason for why criminals that were hanged were publicly displayed in the old days: to deter others from doing the same.

Now, as notable as your attempt at discussing this policy may have been, it's simply not up for debate. Mods and administrators are the only ones who decide the rules around here and that's the bottom line. If you don't like it, tough nuts, but you'll appreciate the policy the first time you get flamed or a topic is so stupid you feel it should be closed.

Speaking of which, I happened to have this in my pocket...
