Yes, but the tournaments are limited to 15.
Shooting over 17 bps is only good for showing off to your friends in the back yard, it has no use. The ion is NOT plastic. Its one of the understood COLD HARD TRUTHS. Exoskeleton=composite. Are tippys and glocks made out of plastic? No, COMPOSITE. There is not a single plastic piece on the gun. I do not believe it is limited to 17 bps. It has a shocker design which is 44 bps and probably with a few mods anda new board will be right up there.
Breakbeam eyes (same as PDS)
Shocker-like design
Easy fix body
Endless possibilities with visual upgrades (as long as companies make shells)
LIGHT
?maybe a magnetic trigger?
true electro, not a beefed up spyder
single tube, not stacked=LIGHT
and I thought BKOs were eternally capped to 18 bps?

only some tournies are limited to 15. And i agree, reaching 17+ is very hard to do.

b2k5 and th ion are erally IMO two different guns for 2 kinds of peeps

one whose looking for proven (as of now) reliability and looks (IMO) higher speed, maybe better eyes (since i cant speak of SP break beam eyes) and a sure chance that they wouldnt have to replace the external shell of polymer should go with the b2k5.. also i donth think that ions would be a tournament gun

otherwise if your looking for unbeatable price for quality and stuff you get go with the ion.. for 285 your gettting a good deal.. literally unbeatable the b2k5 is relally for those looking for a higher end STOCK gun while the ion of for those who cant spend the 500$ on a great gun, but still want all the ups of a high end gun

it all depends on your $$$ and preference.. shoot both and decide

id say its almost a tie right now because who knows. I dont know if anyone has shot the b2k5 and only a few people have recieved ions yet. Its too close because their hasnt been enough actual use to compare them, specs really dont matter all the much. If when more people get their ions and it still is as good as it sounds, i would get that because of the price difference. the ion is 275 and b2k5 is 495. I dont see enough to justify the 200 bucks difference. ION for now

It doesn't have a Shocker design. It is an electro-pneumatic blowforward (mags are the only other blowforwards I believe). The internals look like DM4's. Has a magno trigger stock. 2.2lbs. True electro? You mean electro-pneumatic.
