i'd go ion.

Personally I would agree with Splatttt and the rest of the Wrath camp, but the Ion isn't a bad gun, just waaaaaaay over-hyped. The Wrath shoots 3bps faster (if that matters to you) has a MUCH better stock regulator and can be totally disasembled and put back together in about the time it takes to just get the bolt out of the Ion due to the composite case that limits access to all internals. The Wrath also has an LCD screen if that's your flavor. But seriously, they are head to head competitors and as of right now, NO ONE really knows which will be better, they are both too new. If you plan on using CO2, I'd go with the Wrath as it's internals are much better suited for it (as is the O2 and O3 in the same marker family). But it is all personal preference. If you ask me, the Wrath LOOKS like a pro gun and the Ion LOOKS like a Wal-Mart special, but that's just my taste. You should look at the specs and features of both guns and make up your own mind, neither will let you down I'm sure. STOCK, the Wrath comes with more features and ups, as for possibility for upgrades in the future, that's tough to say which will be better. Whatever you decide, make sure that decision is based off of FACTS and not the ravings of some kid that has never even held either of the guns. DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE, just research the facts. Read honest reviews. NOTE: If a review gives no statistics or numbers and just reads like a fifth grader telling of his first experience with a girl, it's probably not too credible ;-) Check out ..... and look for my review soon on the Wrath (yes, after much research and contemplation I bought one) here on the nation. Take care and good luck.

i would go ion... i have never had a problem with any sp gun ive owned and the ion doesn't look any different.... of course the wrath comes with a better reg and does shoot just a little faster.... of course ^^^ 3 bps really doesn't matter...

And YES, the Wrath is an air ram spring return marker, but hardly capped at 18bps mechanically. My T1 (which is NOT as good- reade Spattttt's coment) could shoot low 20's no problem, and that was with a lot of stock parts. Springs do not lower the cps of a marker, look at T-Boarded Spyders for crying out loud. Also the Wrath has BREAK BEAM EYES just like the Ion and has an even smaller profile, so those points are moot as well. Finally, the stock reg on the Wrath is very nice and very consistent while the Ion's is all over the place. That little peice of knowledge came from another member of this site that works at TAG paintball and has shot and crono'd both guns, not my personal opinion. Again, if you want to buy a gun, do yourself a favor and research the facts...
EDIT: Here's a quote from RagingVortex on the poll thread that I think is pretty accurate:
Looks: Wrath > Ion
Performance: Wrath~Ion About equal
Unique: Everyone and their mother will have an ion by the summer. Stand out with the wrath.
Customer Service: I've never owned a diablo gun but I fear that since they are smaller than the SP giant, they will have customer service issues just like odyssey & dragun. Diablo does have the advantage of being a NPS company. We'll see how it plays out.
Features: Both have breakbeam eyes. Both are nearly the same speed (wrath has a 3 bps edge). The ion has a little edge being a spool valve, but honestly spring return is just about as good. Wrath has LCD screen. LCD owns LED
Field Stripping: My we've heard this one a lot. The ion requires you to unscrew the shell (requiring the removal of the grip frame) to get the bolt out. This takes about 5 minutes. Contrary to popular belief, it does not take 2 hours. Once you clean it all up, pop the bolt in and then spend another 5 minutes reassembling. 10 Minutes total. The wrath takes about 1 minute.
Threading: Autococker threads on the wrath. Yay. I don't want to buy new barrels.
Upgrades: There are going to be lots of ups for the ion since it is so popular. The wrath hasen't really caught on yet. Time will tell.
As for the BKO and Omen, the Omen sucks. It's a fragile, over-priced blowback. BKO is a good gun, but I think that both the wrath and ion top it.
NOTE: If you break a ball in a game with an Ion, you are done for that game. Period. If you break a ball in a game with a Wrath, 30 seconds later you're stripped, cleaned and ready to go again. This one factor alone should make you seriously think about having an Ion as your primary marker in tournaments or even as a rec player. You can say all you want, but field strippability in paintball is important.

there good for the price and for people with low budget needing a gun that can somewhat "compete" with the more expensive guns

I've dry fired the ion and i loved it, however I have not shot the wrath, but I'd have to say Ion because I'd trust SP over Diablo.

I own a Wrath and I have a review of it posted at paintballreview. I'd have to back the Wrath more than the Ion, I've dry fired both and the Wrath just feels better. That's the only real way to decide which one you want more, go to your local proshop and dry fire them, then decide.
