Ion vs. '05 BKO
Well, have around a $650ish limit so:
Ion
10" Freak
68/45 Crossfire N2
Egg2
or
'05 BKO
68/45 Crossfire N2
Egg2
Would the BKO eventually outperform my Ion?

Havent shot the Ion but the Bko performs very nicely and you can buy a whole bunch of ups for it like boards and stuff. Both have eyes, both probably structuraly sound, i dunno about ion alot of plastic, both probably have good customer support, I dunno if you are on a budget the ion if not ket the Bko i think it would be a better investment but i have not heard anything wrong with the ions yet so id say shoot both if you can, ask your shop or anyone you know who has one, play with them if you have the chance then decide which one is better for you.

I'd go b2k instead... b2k4s with PDS are only $319 right now, which is a kick ass price for a hella awesome marker.

I know there are a few threads similiar to this, it's just those generally refer to the stock markers. I wanted to see where I should spend $650.

b2k5. The ion is a new gun, it probably doesnt have all the kinks out of it. THe bko might have a few, but im sure not as many.

Yeah, that's the only problem with the Ion. It's basically the first "batch". If I got an Ion I would probably wait a year or so, when SP worked out all the bugs and problems with it. Plus in about a year, some pretty nice upgrades will be out (hopefully).
B2k5 + a 68/45 Crossfire doesn't sound too bad. Then again if I wait a year for these it could drop about $100. But then I'd want a b2k6
Decisions... Decisions...

It's not plastic
It's similiar to a rubber/carbon fiber mix. You won't be breaking it easily.

The changeable body is a hard polymer (special plastic mix) that is not strong, but not brittle like a loader shell. It is also covered in a rubber webbing (the raised black lines) that further protects the innards.
As for your barrel choice, look at the Powerlyte Scepter kit. They are less expensive and it's design is similar to the Freak, but the inserts are smoother and lock into place. People who own these rave about them. Freak owners have mixed reviews.
