I would say a proto, alias, or if you want to spend 100 more, an ego.
Is it worth the extra cash? I would say so, they have very minimal kick, good effeciency, and they come with good Planet Eclipse parts stock.

speed and tippman dont go together. period.
I'd personally get a Shocker w/ that high efficiency kit from xpaintball.
then get a revvy and HPA
but in order to get all that it might break 1000, you could either snoop around ebay or shell out a little bit more but it's a kick ass setup

Try ur best to find a proto matrix, a ego, and a 05 speed and at least shoot them. Maybe use them in the game if the owners nice. U may find u DESPISE the feel of 1 gun.

For under 1k the 05 Speed is the best marker you can buy on the market right now. For over 1k....that's your call.

i heard that autocockers break easily, but i always see lots of people at the field with them and they usually dont break the whole day. i have seen trilogies mess up with non-motorized hoppers for some reason, especially little kids that dont have a barrel kit and the tiny paint they are shooting rolls out the barrel and they call themselves out because they think their gun is broken. this combined with short-stroking turns out to be very nasty
ive also seen stuff like people not turning their on/off asa's all the way on or not having the tank screwed all the way in, but i have never seen a cocker break before... that said, i think karnivors are running about $995 right now
