Tippmann98C Or Spyder Xtra?
Hey,I'm going on my 2nd gun now...I like BOTH woodsball and speedball.....I don't know whether to pick the Tippmann 98 custom PRO, or the Spyder Xtra. I have about the equal credit for them in looks but I like the feel of being able to customize the 98c. Though some people like the Xtra better....So if you could put down some of your opinions,it would be great.

Both are great guns. If your playing woodsball I would recommend the 98c (not shiny blue), and for speedball either one would be ok.
both guns are very customizeable, however the xtra comes stock with an Xchamber.

They both have about the same speed, but the Xtra might benefit you a tad bit more in speedball. It just depends which one you like better personally. I'd take the Xtra because its cheaper and you'll have money left over for whatever.

Well judging by your name. I see that you like 98c's. Go for it.

get a 98c you can upgrade to a better gun when or if you become a speedballer i dont recomend putting much money into your 98c besides a barrel (empire twisters are great cheap tippmann barrells) then youll have money for a good gun for speedball if you dont put much money into your 98c.

I would prolly get the 98 if you have the money because its reliable, quiet, and very upgradeable. The Xtra is a good gun also but if your playing more woodsball go w/ the 98, but whatever ibe you choose, you wont regret it.

That is exactly why you want to buy the Imagine. No doubt. Bottom line is, you are "undergunned" with the 98 custom if you play speedball.

HAHAHA! Quiet and Tippmann do NOT go together.
And even he says "if your playing more woodsball."
Safe yourself money in the future, and buy the Imagine, it is electronic, rather than the xtra. They upgrade the same, the spyder just doesn't have as many cosmetic upgrades (useless, btw)
Imagine
Dye UL 14" barrel
12v revvy
68/45 crossfire tank (or use co2, it doesn't really matter unless you are going to play just speedball. But if you do, get a anti-syphon co2 tank. 20 oz.)
Then you can upgrade from there, if you want. But most likely you will figure out what everybody eventually does and upgrade to a better gun, yet.

As I said before I like BOTH Woodsball AND Xball....So I still don't know whether to pick the 98c or the Xtra. I have a few more votes for the 98c so far but if I did get the 98 I would get the pro version,no doubt....So what would be the better or worse gun? Tippmann98c PRO ...Or Spyder Xtra. Thanks for your opinions.

DO NOT GET A PACKAGE DEAL. They are a rip-off. I'm telilng you, go for the Imagine. I wasted my time with Tippmanns and now I'm out of that phase.
Imagine.

Tippmann no doubt. They can be modified of course. Once in awhile you'll see people using them in speedball in magazines such as APG. They of course have a Halo on them, e-grip, low pressure system, etc. Tippmann's are great. Anyone who says they aren't aren't about no breaks and accuracy. My old A-5 is the second most accurate gun I've ever seen.

I would go with tipp, and eventually a flatline if you play woods ball, people think that its not good for woods ball, but from personal experience I know if you align it right and oil the adapter before play that I can get more accuracy then anyone else on the field, but for speed ball its not the best choice

It's not a sin to see tippmann's on the speed ball course. Get the 98, worth it in the long run.
