You don't need to know everything about paintball to know the basics of a damn tippmann. It's common sense.

The automatic thing is called an RT Trigger, or a responce trigger. It wont mess up the marker except for a bunch of chops if they dont have a fast enough hopper.
You'd probably be best with a tippmann 98c. They're pretty much indestructable. I've heard stories of them being thrown at trees, ran over, falling out of cars going 60mph, getting run over, and they still work.
Anyways, like the other dudes said, get the 98c with a 12v revolution hopper, a 20oz c02 tank, and a J&J Ceramic barrel (most will say 14", but i like 12" better, tippmans are already long) and you'll be set.

Yeah, get a 98 custom... It will work wonders. Don't get a HUGE barrel seeing as anything past 16" is useless.

actually the r/t and the e-grip are two different things. The r/t is one shot for the pull of the trigger and one shot for the release and if you sweet spot it enough, you can pretty much make it automatic. That's probably why you thought so.
edit**sorry for the double post. I thoguth i was editing my other one and i wasnt.. icant find the delete post button though.

pbf=whipped
if this had been a guy, everyone weould have been like "OHHH WRONG SECTION@! WRONG SECTION!@!"
but yeah, pick up a new barrel for the tippy, I'd say a CP one piece... pretty cheap, and maybe a double trigger for a little more speed.
A revvy would be nice too.

Haha exactly what I was thinking, and like 50 people posted so quickly in this thread.
Good setup mentioned as well, I'd go with that.

First off this is in the wrong section.
Don't get a tippmann, they're twice as expensive and the only real thing they have on spyders is reliability. But spyders are easier to take apart, fix and lubricate. Plus they're not as long. Spyders are simplicity at its best, and for the price of a tippmann you could get a full set up for your xtra.

Thats not what an RT is, a tippmann response trigger uses extra air from the gun, to push the trigger forward. Thats why it bounces easily.
There are response modes on some electronic guns that let you shoot one shot for each pull and release, but this isn't one of them.
And yes, tippmanns can have boards. With an e grip you can put a matrix board in there, Josh will tell you that.
