if weight doesn't matter then go with a tippmann A5....a lot of woodsballers i know prefer the A5 to the tippmann 98 custom but its mostly just personal preferance....
just go to a local store and get a feel for both of them and then make your decision...
either a tippmann A5 or a tippmann 98 custom

If you have $800 sitting around, then get an SP8 or a SIM RIS Elite. If you want you could always get an E-gripped A5 and buy a few other things for it. It is your choice. The rec ball section could provide better answers.

800 is too much to play rec woodsball
if you play scenario, thats a diff story
a 98 is a good marker.
eventually you may want to play speedball
blow money on a speedball marker later

if you're not looking for milsim, maybe consider the tippmann procarbine.

Go with a mag. Ask the peeps in the AGD forums on what to get. Talk to Alpha, hes the man to talk to for mags.

If you don't want the Sp-8 get the new gun from blackpoint enginnering, the MKX-8 that gun looks cool and isn't an Ion is a different plastic shell.

I would say a black ion or any fast accurate gun. Black ninja shocker would be nice. You don't need to get a tippy.

The MKX8 from BlackPoint and JCS:
I have one. It's solid as a rock. Super easy internals and field strip. Made out of the same composite material the Glock is made out of.
Have same cocking handle and sights as the XM8.
All around nice gun.
