theres no competition between a spyder and an ion, ion blows it out of the atmnosphere. if you can not afford a nice hopper/tank, then go for the spyder.

The ION is by far a better gun, its lighter, faster, extremely customizable, its just a all around much better gun than the imagine. I would reccomend a imagine though, because its your first gun, and you can learn about them with a less complicated marker, later, if you want you can sell the imagine and buy a ION. The imagine and pilot are very similar, and I would go with a imagine just because it is cheaper. Its your choice though.

Exactly what he said. I have an ion, and I've also shot just about every kind of Spyder out there, and there is really no difference in any of them. So I'd definately have to say ion out of the two. But if it is your first gun, then go with the Imagine so you can get to know paintball gun's internals, and then get an ion.

yup qft.
and also what sittin said. if you havent played paintball much and dont know a lot about maintenance, then just get an imagine. also get a 12v viewloader revolution (revvy) so you dont chop balls

i have an imagine and a ion if you have the cash for HPA and a good hopper the definitely get the ion but if it is your first gun then get the imagine. trust me just get the hopper and a compressed air tank don't bother to upgrade the imagine it will never be close to an ion. but if you get HPA and an electronic hopper they are transferable to the ion so your really not wasting money on any of that.

I used to shoot a 05 Pilot and I enjoyed it, although the ACS bolt can be a bit bothersome. I now have an Ion and its like night and day. Although the Ion is a lot more delicate and if it is your first gun you may want to avoid it. An imagine is an awsome choice for a first gun. As mentioned dont drop to much cash into an imagine except for maybe a barrel if you plan to stick with it for a while.
