New Highend?
I am kindof new to these forums but not really new 2 paintball. I am wanting a new highend marker, I have had a DM4 since they came out but I don't truly know alot about the DM6's. I have seen other threads but they aren't truly helpful so I will ask here. Which would you buy if it was you :
Ego 06 - Dye UL barrel, virtue board or M7 tadeo, Exhaust Valve Kit, Ego 06 Dart Bolt
DM6 - virtue Board or M7 tadeo, Orange Bolt
I am in the Dye family but I have heard some bad reviews about the reliability of the DM6's, but heard that the Ego's were excellent. Thanks in advance.

Friend of mine just recently made the same decision. He was ALL about the DM6 until he actually felt and shot the Ego (I made him feel and shoot it before he bought the DM, as I never had a doubt which I preferred), then he bought the Ego...

Yeah thats how I am, I have never truly shot a Ego, just seen a few. I have however shot/felt the DM6 and I love the ultralite frame, but I don't think that is worth it if the DM6 actually does have reliability issues. However every Ego I have seen, shoots perfect and hardly ever messes up. But my DM4 has had a few issues but none that major besides having to replace the solenoid.

Both are going to shoot tits
I say the dm6 mainly because you are already familure with the dm platform and maintenance on the dm6 wont be any differant from your dm4

dm6.
love both guns, just love the dm design more than the timmy/ego design.
btw, shoot the ego too. it is hot. and the reliablity on the dm6 will be no different than your dm4, they arent screwy. trust me.

How much more efficient is a Ego than a DM6? Like how many pods would you get from both on a 45/45?

Also how is the trigger pull of the Ego06 compared to the DM6? Also which one tends to chop for balls?

Yeah, make sure you shoot both of them so you can finally choose. They are both extremely nice and shoot great. Go shoot one and decide.

Chromekilla brings up a good point, since you're familiar with the platform, that's a huge plus. DM6's have improved a ton since the DM4, but they essentially operate the same.
Imo, Egos perform better, but they operate entirely differently so it could be a bit of a drawback getting used to it.

True, but of course I don't want to be on the field and be worried if my gun is going to mess up for no reason, I mean surely Dye has worked out some of the bugs etc. Just heard some nasty stories about the solenoid's on the DM6's. I do really like the Ultralite frame but I heard that the Ego's were light if not lighter than the DM6?
P.S. I have heard the Ego's have a little more kick, but actually how much more kick will it have than my DM4? Also how good is the SLY barrels, I don't truly like carbon fiber barrels but the SLY is supposed to be good.

I've never actually heard any of the rumors about DM6's failing. The few that I've seen haven't had any problem.
I'm not sure which is lighter, since the ego came out, they've always been lighter than the DM series, but there's been rumors that the DM6 is just as light as an ego... I'm not exactly sure which ego they're reffering to though. Both are very light guns anyways, the difference is probably only a few ounces if one or the other is indeed lighter.
Yes, egos have more kick, spool valve guns have always had less kick than poppet valve guns, but the upside is that poppet valve guns are far more efficient. IMO, if the ego is properly set you don't really notice the kick, especially when you're just ripping away a stream of paint.
I don't know much about SLY barrels, I personally try to stay away from carbon fiber barrels.

How many pods + hopper will I get from a DM6 with a 45/45, also vice versa how many with a Ego 06? Also will the Orange bolt for the DM6 make it more efficent than the stock Fuse bolt?
