Hey guys, I'm here to get help on choosing a new gun. I am by no means looking for an entry level gun because I had been playing X-Ball with a 98c E about 2 years ago before I got my first job and bought my first surfboard. I played mainly back to mid on the X-Ball fields being limited by the size of my gun. I really want to get back into the sport now as I have a job and a car and can play a lot more often now. Without boring you further here are some of the guns I am contemplating. All of the guns need to be bought and upgraded for around $800 to possibly $1000. Keep in mind I have an Egg hopper, a 68/3000 tank, and all of the gear.
-WGP Cocker: I am not at all familiar with these as I've never even played with one. I would love to know if any of these guns come with an anti-chop eye and maybe how heavy they are, perhaps speed of fire.
-Bob Long Timmy: I have played with a Dragon before and was very impressed with the speed and almost no chop it has. I also like their light weight.
-Smart Parts Impulse: I have also played with one, it is also rather fast and I would have to go for the eye. I really like the look of these and their are a quite a few out on the fields around where I live.
-Any of gun you suggest: I really haven't payed any attention to the market of these things for over a year so I really don't even know what else is out there.
Yea I have handled a shocker and they feel good, but I was wondering what some of your guys' feelings towards the nerve. I mean I am a fairly large guy, 6'1" 185lbs, but I am in good enough shape and have enough experience to play front. Is there any sacrifice in accuracy with the smaller gun, because it has obvious mobility advantages being so much smaller and lighter. I actually have a freak back with Impulse threads, so I may be seriously considering one of these Smart Parts guns.
nerves and shockers should shoot and feel about the same seeing that they both use the same board, triggers, and grip frames
i think the nerve comes better stock because it has a q-lock and a better barrel
i just always thought that nerves were ugly and i had a deal on a vision shocker with ups for only 400$
so i went with the shocker
I have a few more questions. Between the two is the shocker significantly quieter with the no external moving parts. Having grown up thinking the shocker is big and heavy (because it was) I guess I'm just more partial to the Impulses, but if the Nerve is a step up I'm all for that. And lastly is the Shocker worth the extra cash over a Nerve, because right now it looks like the nerve is going to take the cake. I plan on playing with both before I buy though, I was just really looking for options that I wasn't aware of, which you all brought to me. Thanks.
I plan to go to the store and handle the Nerve. Does anyone have any hands on real life experience with the gun, because they seem to be fairly sparse where I live. Smart Parts say it is half the size of the Impulse, is this a fair judgement, is it really that small.
personally, i love nerves. they shoot and feel much better than shockers IMO. but if you have $800 - $1000, i would not go for any smart parts gun. try going for a nib pm6 on pbn (about $600) and get a ul frame for it. (about $250). sell the egg and buy an empire reloader b. that is what i would do if you have that much money.
and you dont give up any accuracy with a smaller gun, with high end guns nowadays, it all paint to bore size match.
oh, and your imp threaded back wont fit a shocker. shockers and impulses have different threads.
hit me up on aim if you have any more questions.

oops
i think you meant shocker
anyway nerves are only a little heavier than shockers
and once again, same board, grip frame and trigger
so you could get a dynasty or ton ton grip frame and a dynasty board
that would make a sexy nerve imo
i dont think ive seen any aftermarket bodies though

^^^That is a much better idea than a nerve or Shocker. Dudeus does know his stuff.
you should look into a pm5 pm6 with ultralite frames.
