im probably going to get flamed to go towards PMR, but i would still like a little help.

about me (to help judge which suits me)

i have been playing on my spyder e99 for over a year and a half now and im ready so invest a little more into paintball. i enjoy rec ball, but i would really like to become more serious and go through tournaments. I am more of a middle man in games, aggresive, but not as much as someone going for snake. im looking for a marker that is able to shoot at a mid range bps at least 15, is reliable, and preferably can shoot straight out of the box. i would like it to be light with minimal recoil. i would also like help choosing the right size of tank and what type of hopper.

Both are sum what alike but i would get the PMR. It has better gas efficiency and is super quiet. The epiphany isnt anything special, nothing that makes it stick out.

allright i will keep that in mind. my current e99 is as loud as a train. s i could deal with a smaller tank on the pmr than on the epiphany?

<eh, only if your playing tournies. From a 68 4500 psi tank you should be able to get about 1200 shots from a PMR. If you get a 48 ci 4500 psi tank by CP (the lightest tank on the market) you would get less shots but the tank is VERY light. If you only shoot 600-900 shots per game (im not sure how many you would get but its pry in that area) and you remember to fill up between games then get the smaller tank.

I'd get the PMR, all the epiphany is is an Ion with On/off, Freak Jr. and Blackheart Board (which isn't all that good.) I'd good with the PMR, they're alrighty pretty nice for their price, you might want to get a new trigger if you don't like it, some people don't perfer it, and an on/off for sure, and a backcap and a trigger if you decide you need it.

how much would a new on/off and backcap cost? round $50 total?

I wouldnt call it a freak Jr cause it only has 1 insert i think but there are a few changes. There is a new chamber that increases operating pressure making the gun slightly more gas efficient (w/ a lil more kick) and the new chamber also lets you adjust some settings that you could not adjust before. The on/off is a huge plus, and it also comes w/ a smaller feedneck (it operates the same as the one before though). Its not a bad gun, but i would get an Ion and buy a few upgrades rather than get an Epiphany. I do think though that the PMR is better than the epiphany for the price you are paying.
