$150 ion or $30 Triumph? I think it's an eXT...
Ion's used, TIppmann's new.
Ion is supermodified, Tippmann's straight-out-of-box.
I have a hopper and tank. I need to know which one would be better, considering the deals.
The Tippmann, I don't know which version it is.

The tippmann triumph is a power tool, the smart parts ion is a paintball gun. Go with an ion. Just out of curiosity thought, why are those your only two options?

Lol, why do you say it's a power tool?
And sort of. I'm only at 150 spending limit for a marker and someone is offering me a nicely modified Ion...but I'm getting delayed for picking it up like crazy. Tomorrow me and my friends are going and unless something special (which has a 30/70 chance of happening) happens, I won't be able to pick it up tomorrow in time.
As for this Triumph, it's a great deal and if the marker is comparable to the Ion in performance, why not pick it up for 120 less than the Ion?

Look at the triumph and then look at your father's electric drill. See any resemblance? I'd go Ion because it's a much better marker, but is this your first gun? If it is then the Ion might be a little too hard to maintain. Is your tank hpa and is your hopper electric? If your answer to either of those questions is "no" then you can't use an Ion.

Other than a maybe lame design...any other reasons to give the $120 advantage to the ion?

The Ion is an overall better gun.

Yeah. Despite how people say how hard it is to maintain, it is for experienced players that are responsible and take care of their equip, just don't go home throw it under your bed and wait for the next game. You have to oil, clean, take care of it. But if your brand new to paintball you might as well get the triumph, though its a low end marker it still works as a gun. I am no exactly sure how durable it is though.

It's alright, I was investigating for a friend who probably won't get as far into paintball as I might. I'm fine with more complicated maintenance....as long as it's reliable/durable
I'll stick with the Ion, then, and confirm the Triumph for my friend.

Test the guns out and make sure they're functioning properly before buying. Or ask to watch it work properly.
EDIT: One more thing, you will need a compressed air tank for the ion as it does not run on CO2.

I have compressed air for when I get the Ion. I'll have to inform my friend about the CO2 (I knew that before...just maybe I didn't tell him well enough).
And when I get the Ion I'm doing an eye test (filled air tank, fire a blank, turn it on, fire again, if nothing happens, eye works, right?). My friend is buying new....which I know doesn't guarantee the marker will work, but will at least almost do so.

I didn't buy it FOR him...a bunch of my friends are getting into paintball too (or at least buying their own markers) and one of them found this deal when he was looking around. Plus, now that I have the Ion I don't need another marker. On top of that, I don't have the cash - 18 bucks if I subtract what I'm going to pay a friend for his Profiler SE (25 bucks).
