Promaster Vs Etek or other similar guns
Hey i got back into paintball recently. Currently i have a slightly upgraded Promaster. I'm selling some of my world of warcraft accounts probably gonna end up with about 400-500 total (I have accounts friends gave me when they quit that i fixed up b4 time ended). So yea I'm out of date on the new guns and the new comparisons. So is the Etek a big upgrade from the promaster? If not what would be or what would be a better gun in that price range? Any feedback would be nice.

yeah it definitely is. do you have the whole setup besides a gun? if so get that etek. if not then get something like a pmr/SLG then buy a new hopper/tank/mask etc.

i've got a 68/300 and a 68/5000 evil tank so yea i've got the tank and i have a halo and mask so yea would just need a gun. Is there any other guns in the same range as the etek price wise that are better? Or is etek the way to go.

surprisingly no.. My friend bought a dmc for some reason and it came with tank and mine needs to be hydro tested so he gave me the tank he got with dmc and now is selling the dmc a few days after getting.. Its pretty much the same size as my 3000 surprisingly and is light.

never heard of a 5000 before. but a dm6 might be in the eteks range, if your buying new. if not then the etek will be cheaper.

Other than weight, the Etek is no better than the Promaster.

Beside the fact that the Etek company is still in existance, the etek is still being made, parts are still being made for the etek, and the etek is more reliable, has a better board, and can be bought new.... maybe the etek is a LITTLE better than the Promaster in a few more areas.....

That promaster is a good marker. 1 or 2 small purchases and home mods and you'll love it. After buying a valve that doesn't suck and shaving the hammer down to a respectable weight there aren't many guns that are a big "step up" from it.
I will say this. Promaster resale sucks. ICD is around but they aren't going to be making anything paintball. Warranty work will still be honored at Vaporworks and the community is very knowledgeable, so you don't need to worry there. Right now there are some people with the capabilities to do so attempting to produce some knock-off components like the better ram that ICD had produced for a short while. I have one of the original upgraded rams and they are awesome.
If you play a lot and find yourself unsatisfied with the promaster then upgrade. If you're playing only every month or so it's not really worth dropping the cash on a "better" gun.

a new valve, LPR, and HPR are the best three things you can buy. All the things you have listed are worthless in the operation of the marker. It may look good, but if there's nothing under teh hood, it's all pointless.

buy an ebay valve and shave some weight off your hammer with a dremel and you'll be good.

dmc's are pretty good, just a dm5 with polymer/composite parts. How much you pay?
