Want a second opinion

I'm shooting an Invert Mini right now. An opportunity may have arisen for me to sell me gun to a friend who is looking to start playing paintball. I've been thinking about the possibilities for a new gun. I had somewhat settled on an Etek 2. I went to the paintball store to ask about Etek 2 pricing and to pick the owner's brain about it. The owner told me the Etek 2 was a good gun, but he thought that an NXT Shocker would be the better option in that price range ($600-$700). He said he though the Shocker shot better.

Wondering if anyone cares to throw their 2 cents in on this. I'm not exactly rolling in cash so I want to get the most out of my money. I really liked the Etek 2. However, if the Shocker is the better option then it's something I would definitely consider.

FYI: I've never shot an Etek or a Shocker so I have no baseline to work from. My only guns have been my current Mini, an E-class Oracle, and an Impulse.

Etek2>>>>>>>>>shocker.

The Owner probbly has some shockers he needs to get rid of. A $400 Quest is a lot nicer than a stock shocker.

I'd take a protoge over an Etek any day. protoge is just as fast, light, absolutely WONDERFUL feeling trigger (obviously only my opinion), and a fair amount cheaper.

But strictly between the Etek and Shocker, yeah, Etek.

What we were comparing was an Etek 2: $675 to both a stock NXT: $599 and a Shocktech NXT: $699. He was steering me towards the Shocktech.

FYI, he doesn't have any Shockers he needs rid of. He may have a personal bias towards Shockers, but I don't think it's him trying to unload inventory.

Yup. And my opinion doesn't change. Bob Long Protoge ($550) > Etek2 > NXT > Shocktech NXT
