Hi I am new to Paintball Forum and the great sport of paintballing, i was just wondering what a good starter marker would be, i am looking to spend about $200-$350. thanks for your help

Spyder VS1, vlocity Jr, 2 20 oz CO2 tanks, and a Vforce profiler, and thats for the whole package.

If you just need a gun then a DP fusion would be nice but you already need like a vlocity jr and a nice compressed air tank.

You would want him starting out with a fusion? Just stick to what he said no matter what you need, and yes hellfire is the ****(and a ***** to clean in hard parts of the gun).

Wouldnt be anything wrong with starting with a fusion. But I would still go with his first choice.

Just the fact it's a nice gun that if he took it apart wrong he could completely **** up. IDK bout you but I'd much rather him **** up and learn from killing a spyder than a Fusion.

If he could completely mess up a fusion by taking it a part, he should be in a padded room, not playing paintball.

They are honestly easier to fix and take care of than a spyder/clone.

the vs3 is worthless and overpriced because it's got a rocking trigger frame. They do nothing. Get a vs2 over a vs3.

I would get a vs2. They are great guns for the price, and are cheap now considering the Spyder RSX just came out. I would then go get a Halo B or something like that, and try finding a nice carbon fiber tank used on ebay or BST of pbnation.

Hm, get a vlocity over a halo. Halos break down a lot, i see a lot of problems with them at the field i work at. I have never seen something go wrong with a vlocity. Idk about the VS2, its definitely a good gun but make sure to run only Compressed air on it mmmmk? and yes VS2 > VS3, and if i were you i would try to get tank with a rebuild able reg if possible. some companys that make nice tanks are CP, Draxxus, Crossfire, centerflag, and Dye, try to stick with a nice company. Thats a lot of pressure your holding on too so get something from a reliable company.

And yes, fusions are really easy to take apart. Ever taken apart an ego or wrath? Its almost the same thing.

My main problem with Vlocitys are the shell weakness, you will be replacing the shell every 2-3 months depending on how much you play. I have one with a broken shell and damaged battery wire just sitting in my room right now.

Me and my friend have been using vlocitys for the last two years and never had a shell problem. Right now my friend has a halo that spins wrong (it spins when the eyes are obstructed, so it spins exactly opposite of what its supposed to). Plus, i would rather have a shell break (that can be fixed, most of the time at the field too with some tape) than have an electrical problem or something of that sort.

Sounds like something is hooked up wrong on the inside. and if it's spinning when the eyes are obstructed sounds like he needs to align his eyes.

Seriously, I've been using Jr's for over a year now. Zero problems.

Though the next hopper I get will probbly be the Jrny from NXe.

ew, journys are fugly and so is the magna. Overall i wasnt impressed at all by the new hoppers this year, the only one i would consider even testing would be the torque, the others are too ugly to sit atop my beautiful ego.

Torque is garbage IMO. JRNY is ok looking, Magna is INCREDIBLE technology, but too back-heavy.

Isn't the torque about the same as the pulse?
